id just like to say that i love the front of the 300srt8 alot but...the rear end could easily pass for a Nissan Pulsar not doubt. Thats the most boring car ive ever seen. sleep:

And that red charger is the car we should be comparing, even tho it wouldnt be fair to the srt8 :

Just seen an SRT8 on the road with the standard wheels & id say id prefer the look of the phoon. (the colour didnt flatten the car a sort of dirty copper colour) But the black 300c with the 22's in this thread looks very sexy. This SRT had ncye plates SRT-008.

You can't argue that the SRT8 is a great looking car,but do you remember when "Top Gear" reviewed it...it handles like a pig....looks and speed aren't everything.

As it happened Top Gear reviewed the 300C and NOT the SRT8 - it's one of my favourite anti American Clarkson Classics.

But hey - let's not let facts get in the way of a good story.

think about everyday drving, are you really going to test its limits? Are you going to know that it handles like a boat driving from home to work in peak hour traffic?

why buy an expensive luxury car if you are driving from home to work in traffic.
why not buy a bomb for that job. To enjoy a great car you should get out an enjoy it's capabilities.

Thanks for your contribution. Your total ignorance on the subject is noted.
Perhaps a little research would be in order before you post next time?

that is one sexy looking car - talk about pantie puddles

Yes I love our fpv but I'd be happy driving the chrysler around every day - we're probably going to hang out for the sports wagon

:yeees: why? because we have a choice, some people like to drive in style, some like luxuries, some like looks, some like sound, get the point? where are you going to go everyday on public roads testing the handling characteristics of a car like they would on a track? Legally too?

If you want a car that goes hard, handles well, and you like plastic bits, go the F6.

If you want a car that has style, grace and power, go the SRT8.

That Chrysler, along with the new charger, would be two reasons why I would not buy a Ford next time round. They look much better than the local opposition (Holden), and go just as well as anything in the Ford range. However, these are just dreams for me. My AU1 XR8 will do me just fine.

based on an older merc chassis.

"The 300C may be commended for efficiency of recycling — not end-of-life recycling (although Chrysler properly addresses that aspect), but for re-birthing the 1995-2002 Mercedes E-Class platform as its foundation. Saves on some fundamental design and development aspects."

Not quite. While a number of components are sourced from the previous E Class models the actual chassis is the Chrysler LX platform that was already in development at the time of the takeover and which was then engineered to take some of the Merceds sub components like the front and rear suspensions. Basically that chassis is a rework of the LH platform that was adapted to allow both AWD and RWD configurations in the LX.

The traction control, electronic stability systems, axles, wire harnesses, automatic transmissions (only the older five speed), steering columns, and other major suspension components are contributed from the previous gen E-Class. All up about 30% of the total components.

Cheers
Russ

These are actually easy wheels to clean as you can get a wheel brush in behind the spokes easily. The Cobra has just had it's 60,000 km service (and 3rd set of rear tyres) and is about to head to the paint shop to remove some stone chips. At least the NCT5's outlasted the Pirellis by 9,000 km but even so they only managed just on 20,000 km.

Cheers

I own both cars a bf f6
And a 2007 300c srt
Along with a few others lol
1 thing i gotta say both great cars
Both are fast
2 complete Different cars
Got to say in the corners the f6 is much better
On the straight there pretty much the same my f6 ran a 12.6
And my srt8 ran a 12.9
But after the quater mile gotta say the srt8 is much much stronger.
Im a hard core ford fan.
Got 4 of them
And a 2013 jeep srt
And the 300c
Vf r8
bmw m5
Now they all have major work done
Got to say the jeep is a beast
My fav cars to drive Are f 6 and 300c
If i had to only keep 1 of the 2
Id keep the ford only because im a fan.
If i wasnt hardcore ford fan
Id pick the 300c
