- Holden used his backlit silhouette in effigy when promoting V8 Toranas (“you don’t get to be champion by relying on past memories” or something similar)
- He lent his name to the ED Homologated Option Falcon
- He teaches “celebrities” how to crash in the GP support race.
- He is the father of a V8 ute racer
- He recently became an Aussie citizen.
- BMW (and other companies) use him for drive days in their M-power cars.

Other than that I don’t know what he would be famous for (sic) but I'm sure that he has a few other strings in his bow.

is that all? :-( a bit disappointing methinks, but it probably would've pulled more $$ if it was in the same condition but unrestored

Im told 605K was the fall of hammer price however there is a buyers premium, apparently its 14.5% so i believe that makes it $692K if 14.5% is correct?
We'll soon see how much more an unrestored one in the same condition goes for..! _2:

Well lets see what sort of money a BA GTP brings in 35 years time, relative to $650,000 in todays money, I bet it wont come close.

We went to the Perth auction where it was run simultaneously with the east.
Alan Moffat wasn't even mentioned in the catalogue or by the auctioneer.
I wonder if it would have gone for more,if they had've mentioned him and the cars history.

Mate , you weren't far out , bidding started at $400,000 and ended at $683,650 (Inc Buyers Premium) . Geesh that's a lot of cash , but to a "cashed up" car enthusiast , that's what you've got to pay for a low milage car like that .

***** Awww , Sorry Bathurst77 , I don't think the guy will hand it over as a present . Oh by the way , Happy Birthday :party3:
