Except it isnt like the BA's!! You can get the same thing by simply moving you standard T bar ;)

To simplify, you flick the shifter across and go + or - to change gears. Physically different to the ordinary 3-2-1 on the EA-EL fascia (and auto gearbox's gear selector arm). But it will deliver the same thing. Flick it to 2nd, and it'll act somewhat similar to "2" in an EA-EL (or AU). Having said that, this is what a BA acts like, albeit electronically. So the BA shifter modifies how "D" behaves, while keeping the arm in "D" position, rather than changing the gearbox's arm to 3-2-1 positions. -Dave- |

The thing is dave BA's when you put them in 2 they stay in 2, put them in 3 they stay in 3
Put yours in 3, come to a set of lights it'll go back to 1st. Drive a BA sometime if you havent already and you'll realise what I'm talking about. I chucked one into a corner pulling back on the shifter trying to get 1st but going the wrong way i got 4th and pathetic acceleration in 4th @ 15k/hr! Somewhat dissapointing but it was doing what it was supposed to which is holding the gear. I'm not crappin on about this just to be a dick but at AFD Jason lead me to beleive it was exactly like the BA way of operation in terms of gear shifting but really its just a different way of making the box do the same thing as before. So when walker asks does the sequential work, the answer is no

Post MSN convo with Karl: I stand corrected.
But, if walker is wondering whether it changes gears still when put in the SSS position, that it will do. When in SSS position it will mimic the E-series T-bar's 3-2-1 behaviour. Would this be the best explanation? Either way, I like mine, and prefer it over an ordinary T-bar, even if it's a different way of achieving the same thing |

lol yes dave.
There was a bit of confusion before. The shifter does everything it would in a BA The transmission does everything it would normally. With the exception of whe the shifter is in sss mode it defaults to power mode which is something i like.

I sometimes manually shift the auto in my te50, i find that you really need to watch the rpm and speed before shifting say from 3rd back to 2nd for obvious reasons, especially with the 3.73 diff.
Now i have the ts50 with ess when you manually shift down the gears it is much smoother than manually shifting the te50 and you don't really need to watch speed and rpm, within reason. Is it the software in the ess that makes such a difference?

ah yeah I qouted him...lol...I knew he meant base model.
But it applies to all models. SSS gives you a little functionality, but at the end of the day its just a gimic.

I now have a BF shifter, looks much nicer, have to sort out some more electronics, but everything has been going fine.
