Oh, you did. On a serious note, the Falcon looks upside down, i said at the time of FG release that simply swapping the position of the vents and icc didnt do anything for the look and that gaping big hole below the climate switches is just unfinished, unlike the camry which has the flip up cover to hide the power socket and USB port. And it looks like the Camry has cup holders that will actually work

I second that. Really don't like that grill. I'm guessing they tried to look sporty and... I don't know what happened.

XV40 Sportivo post facelift is my favourite, closely followed by the 'widebody' Vienta Touring series.
Inlaws have a 97 Touring series with 240k, the trim is still as new and has retained the new car smell. I worked for SA's biggest selling Toyota dealer during their run and stepping into the inlaws Tourer is like a step back in time. I used to destroy Commodores on the lunch run with them. Having said that, my fave of the time was the MR2. Now, im off to bowls in my BF3 wagon...no im serious. |

It's all very subjective regarding looks and styling.
I test drove a Camry Altise povo pack last year out of sheer boredom one day and thinking about a replacement for my long in the tooth Honda. It was a very disturbing experience. Why? Because it drove a damn sight better than I thought it would!! In all seriousness if I were looking for a Sedan format daily driver it would be hard to go past for the asking price. For my daily use I have a 100km per day commute across town to the Airport precinct. Park in the open in a dirty environment with jet fuel vapour sometimes in the air it would be just cruel to do that to an FPV or anything really nice. For this purpose all a car needs to be is just transport and the Camry would fit the bill nicely. Reliable, comfortable, efficient and durable. I get why people buy them. Please bear in mind these are not for car enthusiasts, they are just transport.

That was the last time I used it. 2015 Nissan patrol work car can only fit one regular maccas coffee cup in the two console cup holders, if you put two they sit on an angle and knock each others lids off Other work car, 2015 Hilux duel cab has nice cup holders front passenger can have one coffee and driver can have one as well as a water bottle No cup holders in my XB's, makes it hard sometimes, especially with a toploader, it's the only time I wish I had an auto when I want to have a cup of coffee....

Talking to some and I say one can set up a car that when you turn into a corner the car will respond willingly and if pushed the car will perform willingly to any response you give it. But to some they just blink as to what is the point of that. Ignorance must be bliss. A good car is a blessing to drive and I can't wait to drive it and a bad car is a curse to drive and I can't wait to get out of it. I like good things and I hate bad things, some don't know the difference nor careless. It's like politics others want to feed you what you don't respect and push that you must swallow their filth, no no I have the right and I know it's not good and will not accept ignorance. |

Also Ford don't use cheap green lighting in the interior, don't notice it after 80,000 but Ford has better interior sophistication.

One of the undocumented benefits of the Hybrid Camry is that in cruise control it will brake downhill or slopes - using regen, to maintain set speed. Sounds like a nothing feature but removes about 20% stress in day to day metro driving, |

I think the fact that Ford still offer a brown Falcon with brown leather says it all

The Falcon uses the big 4.0 to engine brake, calibrated with the gearbox when in cruise or not, going down hills aslong as you stay off the throttle! I find it an 'interesting' little feature at best I spose as I live in a pretty hilly area!
I too find the Camry styling to be horrid. Reminds me of a whole bunch of after thought design cues and lines all squashed in to make everyone in the diff departments happy! Much like the VF GTS. But yes it's all personnel preference. I still maintain the FG tail lights are the nicest looking on any mainstream car! |

Those cup holders were taken from SAAB (during GM - SAAB marriage ) - Swedish masters of ergonomics and simple design . Pity they could not survive in today's market . |

I'm more worried about why a Camry thread has gone this many pages on a Ford Forum.

my thought, the Falcon has the ICC above the vents which seems pretty logical as you dont lower your eyes away from the road to see it. Also the screen in the Toyota looks like a cheap aftermarket install,as do the Corollas. I like the ZF shifter and hate those stupid gated shifters the Japs seems to think is sporty.
I wasnt a fan of the FGX nose when I first saw it on the screen but now I thinks it looks pretty decent, unlike the Camry Just wish Ford could do simple things like illuminate the buttons on the steering wheel, auto up ect At the end of the day I'd rather a base rwd Falcon than a Camry/Aurion |

No probs, I'm well passed half way to being dead and I haven't owned any kind of Toyota.
I also own a 5hp table saw, a band saw, 2 chain saws, various circular saws, a jigsaw, a guillotine, and many hand saws. Toyotas aren't happening in this household...

Colours and angles can make a big differance. Last time I was at my local Ford dealership there was a black FGX Faclon XR8 on the showroom floor. I can tell you now it looked better than any Toyota I have ever seen. Looks are subjective though |

Why the Camry hate? Surely sales figures that ford would die for. As for boring. Look at all the boring brands put there, Kia Hyundai Proton Mazda etc. Everyone makes white goods. Average consumer wants a car that gives them no trouble and gets them where they want to go.

Driving a Camry is one thing but acting like a hero because you drive a 12 year old car that's worth less then the average weekly pay cheque is something else... Camry only has solid sales thanks to government fleet and rental buyers. They are the cheapest of the 3 locals.
