Early artist impressions of the VF were pretty off the mark before its official unveal. It'll look alot better IMO as the real deal.

I guess I'll have one of these down the track. A testament to a dying breed.

From those two pics I have to say it doesn't look too bad, though not sure if that is an export model with subtle styling differences.
I like the understated look, the lack of wings and spoilers, etc. Much neater and classier.

You know what really, really gets to me.... The fact that we have available to us a home grown product of such high calibre, but all everyone can do is criticise it, rubbish it and put it down... yet when there is a thread about a Hyundai or Kia or some other imported bland disposable fwd buzzbox there is nothing but praise and admiration for it.
I really don't know what's wrong with people these days.

Its strange but the VF feels like its been around for a little while now, yet I don't even know when the onsale date is.
I guess the nascar situation forced Holden to show the car earlier than they would have liked.

The front and rear lights make it look like another Korean fwd. The configuration and placement of the rear lip spoiler looks weird as mentioned.

I'd say under 4.5 seconds in HSV language means "just scrapes under 5", going on previous claims that no one could get within a bulls roar of.

It will make the power but I can just see it going up in smoke like the Walkinshaw supercharged cars that made big grunt, but were slow as could they couldn't get the power down.

It will be interesting to see.

FPV need to hurry up and get the intercooled motor going, all the development's been done, it's just sitting there collecting dust waiting for a home, and a driveline/chassis that can handle it.

It will be interesting to see the 340kw versions Vs the GT with "only 335". It will be a slaughter.

Interesting article, funny if someone said 10yrs ago we would have factory built supercharged Fords and GM`s they would have been laughed out of town. Good luck to those who can afford these cars as I suspect they may be among the last factory built hot rods.

What a Camry?

You kidding?

So which is it? A Camry or a Korean car?
Or is it simply most of you are so biased and desperate that you have no idea what you're on about and will make anything up just to put some negative light on the car?

Holden and chrysler already do have the cars comparable to the phase 3.
And Holden has 84

And looks are subjective really.

it needs more than 4 wheels and a sub standard engine to compare to the phase 3

The E49 was quicker, and the late version of the HG Monaro was one tenth slower over the quarter mile.
about evens it up.

Oh and the phase 3 was beaten by the XU-1 in 72.

So many sour and unformulated comments in here, it's just frustrating to read.

Let's not be in denial here, from what we know so far the VF will bring what has never before been seen in an Australian built car.

We have some unconfirmed information about what could be one of the best muscle cars to be produced in this country if the rumours are true. Why all the negative comments?

Looks like most of the haters just looked at the articles and saw couple of bad VF SSV images with some poor interpretation of what the VF HSV will look like and reference to 4.5 seconds.

The facts are that if the GTS does get the engine in question, it compares to Fords best in the states (GT500 Mustang). This engine will power a lard *** Camaro ZL1 to 100km/h in under 4 seconds. So I have no doubt it would do just as well in a VF.

I don't understand all the negativity. I am Ford all the way, have owned Ford's all my life and love my FG XR6T, however I think the VF is a good thing and will be a good wakeup call for Ford.

At the end of the day if it came to it, I would rather buy an Australian build RWD sedan over an import.

Rant over ......bring on the 15th of May.

Looks to be the Chev SS model. Extra brightwork around the door handles, dual exhaust instead of quad, plastic finish (no paint) around front license plate and of course Chev badges, SS badge and LHD.
