Here is a PERFECT example of the arrogance and self righteousness of these lycra clad nutcases. The bus driver is simply trying to do his job and pull into the bus stop... how dare this idiot harass him like that?
That ladies and gentlemen, is a snapshot of a typical cyclist's attitude and goes to show why they are so universally hated.

so if a cyclist has to pay rego and have a licence, does that mean they can take up the whole lane? or even 2 lanes when passing the cyclist in the left lane? that would be fair wouldn't it if they are paying to use the road? What about using a freeway?
Does a 5 year old living in a court have to have a licence to ride their bike in the court and does it have to be registered?

Quote:
Riding two abreast
Rule: Bike riders must not ride alongside more than one other rider in a single marked lane or on any part of a road that is not a multi-lane road unless the bike rider is overtaking another bike rider.
On multi-lane roads, bike riders cannot (as stated) ride more than two abreast in any single marked lane on that road (unless, as stated, overtaking another bike rider) but may ride more than two abreast across multiple lanes.
If riding in the same marked lane (and regardless of whether the road is a multi-lane road or any other sort of road), bike riders in that marked lane must not ride more than 1.5 metres apart.

Tip: When riding two abreast please consider other road users and, if necessary, change to single file to allow drivers to overtake safely.

Love how you throw a blanket over cyclists with this vid and the rest of the posts you have put in this thread, given it is a case of where the rider is very much in the wrong ill admit that. But its not like bus drivers have ever been a menace and abused the 'Give way to buses' rule and merged dangerously, i dont care if they are doing their job or not to blatantly cut a car/bike off abusing the privilege isnt exactly safe either.

Take your blinkers off.

I don't think they should be allowed on Freeways or any road with a speed limit greater then 60km/h personally. what about the seniors citizens In there mobility scooters that have too pay rego on them?? they don't even get to drive them on the road and they pay rego so how is that fair???

Never noticed one that was registered but at least they are allowed to ride on the foot path

In Europe the cars do not give way to cyclists, and the cyclists ride accordingly. The roads there are much narrower, and driven at much higher speeds yet no one is hit. Seems our drivers are just shithouse.

Registration is not a ' user pays' system like so many of you think. Do some research in to what your fees actually cover and go toward.

It also appears that brake pedals aren't standard equipment like I thought they were. When approaching a slower vehicle, apparently there is no other option other than using the wrong side of the road with approaching traffic. Driving a car really is much harder than I realised!

no way am i reading two pages of posts on this topic

opinion.
SOME cyclists are complete dills nad will not use bike lanes or the side of that country road the otherside of the left white line that just happens to be not as smooth as the road
,
and when the weekly clubs are out and theyre weaving in and out of cars banked up
i mean cmon

then theres the cyclists that do the right thing:
they use the bike lane

i have no problem with those cyclists

Some of us have lost family members whilst they were cycling. Perhaps some of you might have a different opinion on cyclists if that was your family member.

Have a think how far 1m is. It is not much more than an arms length.

All it will take is for some who is not concentrating on the road or get a bit of sun in their eyes and a death will occur. I have no problem with cyclists, only the ones who endanger Innocent peoples lives. They just ride off into the sunset unaware of the carnage they have left behind.
Surely the truck driver simply could have slowed down and waited for the oncoming traffic to pass before overtaking?

My brother hit a cyclist once sent him flying of his bike, he pulled up at a set of lights and mr cyclist Thought he would take a rest while the light was red and hold himself up with my brothers front fender my brother beeped and told him to use the traffic pole, mr cyclist was upset by this and slammed his fist down on to my brothers bonnet Leaving a nice dent then rode through the red light to escape didn't get far enough away I'm afraid I'm surprised how nutty my brother is he didn't drive over him

Take your blinkers off.
How do you think the rider is in the wrong? the Bus came from behind and tried to merge into the lane the cyclist was in then intended to stop in front.
If the cyclist was a car would that be alright. No.
then the Bus driver does exactly the same to another rider up ahead, again if the cyclist was as a car would it be Ok No.
Just because the cyclist is not a car does not make what the driver did right.
