its got 2 small dings in the right front guard but i'm pretty sure i'll be able to get one from a wrecker in the matching colour, needed 4 tyres but I had 2 new ones so need to buy 2 more
it also needs a blue slip so its booked in for tomorrow i think it will cost about $11 per 100km where my adventra costs $23 per 100km to get to work I'm hoping it won't cost more than $4k on the road but i'll keep you posted

Wow, looks in great nick.
220k is still breaking it in. My FG has nearly 340k. Bushes have been the only real drama with it so far. |

its in for the blue slip today so finger crossed they don't find anything costly, there rear of the engine was wet with oil residue but it never dripped in the time i had it and there was no drips on the guys driveway so they can only fail it if it drips
one thing i will be getting very soon is a leather steering wheel off an XR6 for $110, the stock one is horrible and i might just paint the rims silver and put on some centre caps (cop spec), i hate hubcaps and black stock rims looks ghetto also the driver seat base is worn so i'll pick up a spare passenger seat and swap foams and covers, then a good interior clean and she's done

Good pick up ebv8, I was getting worried there that you were actually going to get a Focus.

passed bluey fine, has 4 new tyres and i have done about 200km in it and used 1/4 tank of gas so all good so far.
it goes really well too for 156kw. streetmachine mag just started a video series on a turbo taxi....just in time to get the mod bug. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biEAPfH3_NM&t=0s but no i promised myself i wouldn't i need to finish my other projects i'm still happy i paid less for my car than this guy paid for a clapped out ex taxi

Nice work ebv8
Interesting as from time to time I eye off the BF LPG wagons, let us know how the fuel savings add up. I calculate on $/1000km, and Egas is about $100-110 while our Terry is $160 or so.

so far it does 17l/100km on the trip to work, heaps better on the freeway but based on what i use it for and the cost of gas at 72.5c its $123 per 1000km my adventra does 17l/100km on 98 (tuned for 98) at $1.49l and so its $253 per 1000km so i have cut my costs in half if i got a Focus i'd use 9l/100km of 91 @ $125.9l so that is $113 per 100km but they really need 95 because they ping their head off so 9l/100km of 95 @ $142l = $128 per 100km but in the end i'd rather drive the falcon so i'm happy

Yep that's halving the cost and keeping the full size car.
The autist in me costed out a number of different cars when fuel was slightly cheaper, might as well share cost per 1000 I found: FG2 G6E 4.0 128 SYII Territory 160 FG2 Ecoboost 110 SZ Terry diesel 115 VF Calais wagon 119 VF Evoke wagon 110 VF LPG wagon 87 VS Calais sedan 98 (interesting as it's an oldy) VY 3.8 wagon 110 BF LPG wagon 111 then Audi A4 on 98 octane 105 Suby XV manual 92 BMW 330i on 95 octane 108 BMW 1 manual on 95 octane 98 Suby Forester 105 Toyota 86 - 115 Suby Outback 92 VW Golf manual 83 Mazda 3 manual 85 Mazda 2 manual 76 Corolla manual 96 Yaris manual 82 CX5 AWD 82 and the winners are Corolla Hybrid 59 Audi A3 etron 27+electricity Tesla Model S 45/0 (the 45 based on retail electricity, the 0 on solar) Nissan Leaf 40/0 so yeah my next car really should be a battery bank for our solar...

Just filled up with E10 for $1.08.9.
I normally get 8.5L/100km on average from my FG XT ZF petrol. So that brings it down to about $92.50/1000km But that's if you can keep getting it that cheap I guess. EGAS is a good thing though ... was good when I was doing courier work and LPG was about 49c/L. Especially when doing 1500km Sydney metro a week. It was much cheaper than running on petrol ... even when doing 20L/100km

I went to the local wrecker to get a good seat to salvage the foam to fix mine and walked out with a full leather fg xr6 trim for $200. It was filthy but 1 hour of scrubbing it came up great. The drivers seat has a blown air bag so ill get the stitching repaired and put my air bag and pretensioners on it. I also got a leather steering wheel for $25 and a Bluetooth module, speaker and loom. Oh and a set of centre caps and nuts so i can remove my hubcaps, paint the wheels silver for that undercover cop car look (or taxi look).
Takes the total on road cost to just under $4k

Bargain! I remember doing that kind of thing to my old Belmonts and Kingas, putting in Premier interiors (pay no attention to the colour not matching haha)
