Its not oem XYGTHO3 if that is what you are asking? Starter motor might have a problem cranking the motor in that position also which in it self would of been a red flag to me! Cheers Mick Last edited by HO 3; 30-10-2017 at 12:23 AM. |

Looks as though the pipework has been designed to allow an easy "balance pipe" to be fitted.

Ahhhh, thanks Peter, I see what the OP might be looking at. This is a form of an extended Tri-Y header. It is difficult even today to find any done correctly. Without seeing the entire set of pipes, looks like an attempt to help the lower to mid rpm ranges while exiting a corner. Very well could have met expectations.
Flow Master used to sell those merge pipes. When it comes to Tri-Y engineering and design, I think the best development occurred during the Pro Stock Truck era when the smaller high rpm engines had to operate at higher altitudes such as the Mile High Nationals. These engines benefited from a mid range boost with newer engineering breakthroughs for the Tri-Ys in the oxygen deprived atmosphere. Likewise a whole new merge collector style has been engineered for headers in general which was another good breakthrough for racers chasing the last hp. |

Ok then, I took extractor query to be more about why the flange joint in lieu of the regular oem type merge slip joint.

Any benefit in that example, DJR, are lost due to the poor quality of the bends themselves!!

Why do people in this thread keep using 'of' instead of 'have' ??

OT - not just people in this thread! could of, would of, should of. They all should've listened and learned properly at school, then they would've realised what word is being truncated, and you and I could've just got on with life without having to deal with people using "of" instead of "'ve", which is short for "have"!

If someone says "Would of", instead of "Would have", does it make what they are saying less valuable? They are talking in their language.

In my line of work, I have to decipher all sorts of English, to get the info I need. A lot of people can't help the way they were brought up, so I have to adapt.
This is off-topic, though.

How did they get information about the original order being for Bob Jane? Lol. You can barely get any information from Ford/FPV re. F6's and GT's yet they can find the original purchaser for a car built way back in '71? Smells like rubbish. Also, how does one become an expert on vehicle/model verification? (as GCCM has stated; the car was verified by the "foremost FT HO (sic) Falcon expert").
The ad could have done with a proof-read. Rubbish writing. |

Plus it's not grammar, it's using the completely wrong word. grammar is the way in which words are put together to form proper sentences, using the wrong word all together is not grammar, neither is spelling or typos. There is a difference between a typo and just not knowing basic year four words, one is a mistake the other is ignorance. The difference is knowing your **** or knowing you're ****. And why do you always persist on commenting on my posts when they don't concern you or were never directed at you? I don't have a train set, and really could not give two hoots about a well overpriced XY **** box owned by a dreamer who paid way too much for a car realistically worth 5K max...

The OP link puts it at 28th of October.
I can't help wondering if the tide is going out on the value of these HOs and other local collectables. In another 40 years or so, are future generations going to appreciate what we do when it comes to collectable Australian rare vehicles and be willing to pay such a high price?

The very same subject has been debated in the american car magazines I read as well as far as future pricing for classic muscle cars and their relevance to generations to follow. So the auction was Saturday just gone then? I wonder what the final figure was.
