I said I want mucking around. This is not going to be as big as stage 1 but its a critical part of the build and was going to happen before I got the car back last week anyhow. In this case though I wanted the car for the BBQ so its happening the day after :P

What can I say, G&D are as serious as I am. Loving it!

I can assure everyone that, at some stage, both these things will happen. I just cant/wont say when yet.

I couldnt tell you off hand. You'd need to give them a call but tell them you are from aufalcon.com and they will certainly look after you.
Just dont blame me if you get bitten hard by the mod bug while you are there... its like being let loose in a candy store as a 6 year old! :nutsycuck

To say it feels like a new car is an understatement.. just amazing. Its a magic bullet mod.

They are on Friday night. I might get there if I get a chance, otherwise it will be Heathcote on May 20th after stage 2.. and then everyone can see at the same time as I see what it will run.

I second that.

I'm really keen to see what difference the edit/airbox etc have made over your previous mods.

I'd be holding off stage 2 until I knew that stage 1 was a clear winner on the track.

I’d like to as well but there are a number of things that are going to make that very difficult to do.
1) Cost. I simply cant afford to go running at Calder just to test out every new mod. Even big ones like this. Heathcote is already booked in for May and I’ll be there but it’s an expensive exercise to go racing.
2) Time. I have none. The time I’m not flying in and out of Sydney, day time working, doing after hours work, running chores for the kids (which fortunately my wonderful wife does most of) and trying to help around the house (another thing I’m not very good at) I like to try and spend some quality time with the family. Friday nights is the time we all try to unwind after a big and hectic week and for me to go racing is great for me to unwind but leaves my wife suffering another evening doing everything while go play. Therefore I only do it sparingly.
3) Timeframe. The cars build is on a fairly strict timetable at the moment. The only reason I have the car back is for Easter and the AU BBQ. If it wasn’t for either of these then stage 2 would have directly followed on from stage 1 like I had posted earlier. I’ll have the car a little over a week and have yet to get used to the launch technique required to get it cleanly off the line. Taking it racing this Friday would be my only chance and I’m not sure I could do it justice as wheelspin off the line is still going to be there till I get it worked out. That usually takes more than a week.
4) Goals. In the end I (and G&D) am after a set goal. Everything in the middle, as it is now, is just the route we are taking to get there and not as important as the actual goal itself. While it would be great to see how the build progresses and I’m more than happy to share as much info as I can, the final situation is that I am doing this to reach a goal we have set ourselves and a timeline to do it in. It will simply not be possible to run the car every time we change something (see above 3 reasons) and stick to that timeline. In the end other factors (money and time) may cause us to slow down the build process but, at present, that’s not an issue so its going ahead as fast as it can to reach that golden ring we are chasing!

All that said, I’d love to give it a shot at the track as I’m as curious as everyone else is at the moment. I have an idea of what it “feels” like it will do but without a time slip that’s just guessing. I doubt it would get the best performance it could if I did race it as I’m still learning to launch it without smoking them up but it would be a PB and in the 14’s if I did get a good launch, I have no doubt. Just how far into the 14’s I don’t know.

I dont blame them, I'd want to know too, its just that sometimes its easier said than done. If I'm not going to be able to do the mod by mod runs as we all like to see I'm at least going to explain why. I've got nothing to hide, I just want people to understand that its not always possible to do all the testing and breakdown runs.

I hear you loud and clear on the family and other commitments.

Sad you can't do a run after each and every mod, but hey, how many of us married blokes trying to indulge our Ford passion and AU's get such luxuries?

You're getting dyno results at each stage, that should be enough to satisfy the info and data gatherers until you get it to the track again I would think.

How does it feel being a Guinea Pig Casper?

I'm glad you'll have the car back for the BBQ anyway!
