I haven't been paying much attention to prices lately but before my holidays started week before Christmas I was paying $1.85 for 98. I just checked now and it is $2+ where I have been filling up.

I haven't felt the sting yet though as I haven't been in the office since due to the latest wave of rona.

Hi Guy's,
The price for petrol has powered ahead in Goulburn.
I didn't notice at first the price but during the week i noticed the station i fill up at E10 was 1.73.9 and 98 is 1.97.9 and unleaded is 175.9.

My wife and i are gong to Victoria in Easter, I wonder if fuel will be $2.00 by then or over?

Inner eastern Vic, 98 is around 1.90.

Did over 500kms this weekend, so over $100 in fuel over 2 days.

Still, it's a lot cheaper than hitting the bars and having a **** up. That's how I justify it.

I would not rule out $2.50 a litre for 98 by the second quarter.

An oil crisis not seen since the 1990 oil price shock in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

An oil crisis is on the cards if a full scale war breaks out in Russia-Ukraine.

How good is not having energy independence from foreign countries

Mind you we seem to have bazillions of gas reserves but we export it all to foreign countries cheap and shaft our own people anyway so it probably wouldn't matter if we could produce our own oil anyway.

VB is $60 a slab these days, that's like $6.66/L, so we've got a long way to go before sinking mass market beer is cheaper than putting fuel in our cars

Dunno if you could drink 70L/beer a week though without causing health problems. I reckon some of our members could give this a crack though, that's just under 8 slabs a week, whose up for the challenge?

Very possibly.Download the ‘Petrol Spy’ app to keep up with daily price fluctuations.I filled up last Saturday for $1.90.9 in Sydney(out west).Back in the city we’re I was staying @ my Hotel,it is high as $2.12 a litre for 98.Have to go back up there on Thursday.Fuel in my town @ present is $1.97.9 for 98,but locals get a 2c a litre generic discount off that.

One carton of XXXX Bitter a day x7 = 7L and on top of that 5 bottles of Bundy Rum that = 3.7L now work that out to the Octane value ?
That is what a mate drinks average at home.

Another mate of late was telling me that he was just having a normal day nothing to it just sitting normal day at home and had just pulled a Cone and got up busting to go to the WC and just happened to hit his shoulder coming into the hallway and knocked himself out, Ambulance came and all, not to mention wet his pants !
Then his doctor the next day went right off his rocker informing him of what his blood alcohol level was 3.8 I think and mate though boy, he had not even got out of 1st gear that day.

I am seeing $1.97 for E10 in SEQ some down to $1.77 that's all a round north coast west to Brisbane.

$1.82 for 98 at Costco in Canberra this morning.

I do remember prices being the same in 2013 or 2014 from memory.

First time ever today I couldn't fill my old ute for under $100 Thankfully though due to covid vehicle prices my ute is still worth more than the contents of the petrol tank

I remember when fuel prices got this high back in 06/07, I had just gotten my P-plates and I would cringe everytime I had to fill up.

I remember right as I got my P’s in ‘05 was when Hurricane Katrina came along, and prices shot up to $1.19 a litre. I sat there waiting to fill up wondering how the hell I was going to afford this if it was ongoing.

What I wouldn’t give for $1.19 now!

91 and E10 will probably be $2.50/litre and then oil companies will find a reason to keep it there…

Yes who gives a rats truly about the Ukraine becoming back into Russia, I sure don't care at all. 80% of them truly want to be part of Russia, truth be told, Biden etc are totally full of lies and still full on trying to undermine our economy's still.

How can we survive $2,00 a Litre E10, that's truly a war that's put on us the people ! and for what end, mass blood shed to pursue something that they will not win at all anyway.
Putin has it in the Bag regardless.
The USA could not win a war with the Taliban ! so they have no hope at all with Russia.
The USA and the UK is on the brink to cop the biggest flogging ever.

Not quite right. Some areas of ukraine are very pro-russian, the 2 areas that the russians have moved into. But most of rest of the ukraine despises the russians.

It'd be like Box Hill succeeding from Melbourne and the Chinese PLA coming into Box Hill to act as 'peace keepers' in the new republic.

The irony is I spend about $1300 a year on dirty chai lattes at BP Servo, as long as the war on Ukraine doesn't effect the price of those I'll be happy

Am I a hipster? I'm quite content with being a flog, not sure if I like being associated with Brunswick

I filled up at Ampol 95ron in Noarlunga SA @ $1.79p/L.

I hear we need to brace for fuel to rise to $2.40p/L for 91ron due to the Russia/Ukraine war.

The question now is not whether prices will rise, that's a given... But how long they could stay there?

The return of this new "cold war" could last months or maybe years.

Another nail in the coffin for a world emerging and trying to rebuild from the Pandemic.

Not good.
