Ford Australia went on the record saying no to that, during the same interview they hinted at the f6 engine in xr6t.

Any special in XR8 I'd expect to be like the 50th anniversary. Maybe full g6et interior with the v8 or something.

I had made up my mind on an XR6 Turbo ute with all the fruit in Smoke. Then today I saw one in Vanish, the first time I had seen that colour in the metal. Now I don't know what to choose...

Rebel ford has a kinetic xr8 for 75k ! He said they don't want to sell it because they use it as a demo. If I wanted to buy one it was 60... Apparently theyre the only one in SA with a demo. Maybe it's the same for the other dealers?
Great car but Gotta say it was pretty underwhelming overall after looking at a G6E turbo at another dealer. The interior needs to be more upmarket IMO , Im still considering it mainly because of sync , but other than that i think I'd prefer a late 2nd hand GT for around the same money.

The reason there isnt so many on the road is that they really havnt built that many, pretty much everyone that ordered one since september has too wait until march for delivery. Here in sydney ive seen 5 or so in the last month & thats on the road.

Am I reading this right?

Is Ford that seriously concerned they’ll over supply the market and won’t be able to sell them if they got a rush on and produced a few hundred or a thousand models for dealership demos?

It pays to advertise, doesn’t floor stock or at least demos play a big part in selling to the walk-in trade?

Or isn’t Ford really interested in selling the new Falcon?

Negative questions I know but worth asking.

Yet Stillwell Ford don't want to have a demo, and sell for the correct price lol

For people who don’t live and breathe the brand, floor stock is important.

For me personally, years ago I bought a silver car, I choose the colour because I saw one in the showroom.

When it arrived I hated it.

In the sun the metallic fleck made what I thought was dark silver appear like silver frost.

I’ve never purchased a car since unless I’ve seen the colour in the shade and in the sun.

I can’t do that from a brochure or the internet.

I need to see the different colours before I decide even if it means checking out a number of dealerships.

And that doesn’t include the all important test drive and other visual and comparative tests with other vehicles you put a big purchase like a car through before signing on the dotted line.

I drove a Black one on monday. Nice car. Was expecting more getup and go.
Spoke to my tuner... He asures me I will be more than happy after a tune and IC.
So just waiting to look at a white one before pulling the trigger.
57k drive a way for a manual.
Best bang for my buck i reckon.

Lucky Dad! Surprise or does he know? I am buying one for me (actually an anniversary gift). Everyone here knows the pain the wait brings. Whoever tells you that time goes fast has never ordered a special car.

I saw a G6E Turbo in silhouette on Sunnyholt Rd just before Old Windsor Rd on Christmas day,it really stood out like a classy Euro and just suprised me as it looked like a current Jag from a distance.

Very impressed indeed and if circumstances permitted I'd grab an XR8 in smoke and G6E T in silhouette.
Great job Ford Oz with such tiny budget.

He's lucky, but he does deserve it. He does know. He wants an XR6 Turbo after driving one. Going back in the new year to place an order - most likely in Smoke or Emperor.

Saw my 1st XR8 on the M4 heading East on Xmas day.
It was black, we where heading the opposite way &
with those DRL's I knew what it was as soon as I saw it.
It looked great, even going past at around a 110kms

Almost pulled the trigger on a smoke XR6T the best colour in FGX XR range in my opinion

I don't believe Ford will do a more powerful XR8 but they didn't really consider the GT or GT RSpec owners when they put all of the good bits out of their special cars into the new XR8.

Why should GTF owners be treated any differently to other FPV owners ?

351 was significant to the GT, has no relevance what so ever to the XR8...

They shouldn't necessarily, but ford have stated a few times the 351 will just be for gtf. They could theoretically go back on their word but they have no reason to. The XR8 will sell well enough with the 335.

Ford wont up the power. I always thought using the 351 badge was just trying to draw from the past. And hey its only 16kw.

The white looks sensational. I ordered one sight unseen!!

Picked it up at lunch time on Xmas Eve.

It only arrived at Thomson ford at Lunch time on Tuesday. They had it ready 24 hours later for pickup. Thanks to the team for the excellent service.

Here is a quick shot of mine. Will do more photos later in the week.

20141224_163310_resized.jpg

Still not sure about the blue plates. May change the colour. Was expecting it to be a darker blue - at bit more like the ford blue.

Congrats on your purchase. It's not about resale for me either - it's more psychological. I'd rather a 2015 when all we are talking is a matter of days.
