Probably not a bad thing considering I work at the desk of an apartment building in the CBD where I was screening 20 visitors an hour that they were checking in and wearing a mask... it got heated a few times on my last shift I can only imaging it when I return. One food delivery guy actually pretended to scan the QR code and would flash a screen shot from a previous check in while walking past me. Hardly spoke English (apparently) till I locked the lifts and refused him access. Then the swear words flowed free and fast.. Oh how I love dealing with people sometimes

Reports of F1 being cancelled. I have no love for the race but I loved the vibe it brought. I thought Vic gov may have found a way to make it work. I saw that they have been making some changes to Albert Park, extra mounds. What an utter shame., if true.
"Why the world is now questioning Australia's COVID-19 situation " ACA....almost getting up there with News Corp for outrage porn. I'm guessing sections of the media will now try paint us as a basket case to the overall covid response. What they won't tell you is how well we have done to not let countless people die "unnecessarily". Watch for people with long covid, of any age, suffer for years to come. None of these major countries who let it spread has come out better economically either. We are a laughing stock now due to our jab roll out. I doubt the country's current "lock downs" would be international news if there had been a short and sharp response to contain the initial seeding areas only. I think QLD dodged a lot of scrutiny on their hotel leak, its the 3rd time now on that same hotel, on that same floor I hear? BTW, UK have had restrictions now since JANUARY!...hence why "freedom day" is going to be such a massive deal.

Data valid as at 00:00 GMT July 5th 2021.
Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting. 50 new cases for Australia and no deaths so the CMR is 2.954%. 7 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 0.943% and active cases 39. The UK had a higher 27,100 cases yesterday and lower 9 deaths. A much lower 5,748 new cases in the USA yesterday and lower 57 deaths sees CMR at 1.796%. Other notable points: Global deaths pass 4M, the last 50k in 6 days; South America drops below the 90th percentile over the 10-day period; Vietnam (1,102); Zimbabwe (1,540); Kuwait (1,977); Myanmar (2,969);Kazakhstan (3,031); Bangladesh (9,964); and Indonesia (29,745) ... recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day. No countries move above the 90th percentile for the 10 day period while Brazil and Ecuador drop below.

3 workers on a construction site near my house tested positive to the new covid strain. It got traced back to the other site they bounce between in the eastern suburbs where cases are in general a lot higher. Im not too concerned for myself only because that site is not in a part of my suburb i ever go to and ive been staying at home as the current rules state. But thats the closest to home covid has been to myself.

The little [EDITED] leprechaun can talk all he wants about not allowing flights for un-vaxed, but when they lose business look how long that will last. After he’s run back to govco for more emergency funding of course. And i haven’t heard any other airline claim they will do it either. Last edited by PG2; 06-07-2021 at 07:31 PM. Ok so we all have a group of people that we know through family and work ect.
Those people all have their group that they know ect ect. So the net is fairly wide. Taking that into account, I know of no one that has had Covid but know of 2 instances of people having reactions to vaccines. 1 Hospital, 1 passing out and requiring paramedics. I am interested in your ratios as to how many people you know who have actually had covid, versus how many you know who have had bad reactions to being vaccinated.

No one with Covid but know two women having had the Pfizer shot, both reported independently of feeling out of sorts, and on a emotional roller coaster for a couple of weeks so much so one was really questioning getting second shot. Both are also on anti depressants, not sure if that has played a part in how they felt. Who knows what can happen when there hasn't been extensive 3 to 5 year trials on humans wilth all combinations of meds.
My 80 year old inlaws have had first shot both feel fine no bad effects, they also told me first shot is 25% strength second is 75%, haven't heard of this before. |

A pious fool.
Re CyberWasp’s informal poll, one Covid related death (not sole cause, discussed several pages back) and no adverse reactions to vaccination. |

Vaccine reaction? Pretty much everyone I know has said they had some sort of reaction. From trivial soreness to feeling so uncomfortable that they couldn't sleep for a night, but all feel ok after a few days. Only one of my aunts in Canada has had "long term" issues, and has had to be monitored due to adverse effect on her blood pressure. BTW, these aren't groups of groups or friends of friends, these are either extended family or people I know personally. Yep, at some stage money will talk and bs will walk. His policy will change when other airlines offer flights for the unvaccinated. That will come once enough of the population is vaccinated that they don't care riding a plane with someone unvaccinated. Just a question how long you'll need to wait. I can however see unvaccinated countries enforcing mandatory vaccine for international arrivals, so you might have to cross those little remote getaways off your list.

AZ reaction-1 81yo Father inlaw had his second AZ shot last fortnight, had a bad reaction at the time where he was burning up and disorientated, had same symptoms twice since after doing physical activity, never had trouble before. Could be just a coincidence but i dont think so. |

LOL, australia keeps covid out mostly and someone uses that to be anti-vax. Is your agenda to make a claim the cure is worse than the disease? E: This isn't is reply to you Bent 8 but to cyber
We can't keep it out forever but won't find many affected by covid because we mostly kept it out, no point twisting it to suit your narrative. In the past 18 months while the world has suffered with covid here in WA for example we've had like 1030 cases and 11 deaths. This is due to lock downs, quarantine and closing borders (which can't last forever). Overseas will get those stats added to their tally but the time I finish writing this post! We're stuffed. UK is mostly 60-80% vaxxed with AZ and they were in lockdown and still getting 27k a day positive cases with 300 people per day in hospital with covid.
Israel were about the same vaxxed but with pfizer vax and they're getting 500 covid cases a day. Better than the UK's, but I reiterate we're stuffed eventually when the borders open. https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...cent-1.9973150 (My only interest in israel is that I know it's a country that has a high number of pfizer vax that rolled out early and doesn't have a mix of AZ, moderna, J&J etc like US, nothing else) https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/...elta-1.9968539 As soon as less restrictions delta runs rampant, even through a high number of vaxxed people. Get vaxxed. Open up. It will be what it will be. Can't stay locked forever. The human species will adapt and survive.

Don't get me wrong, I want it to be all over and really don't care so I stopped doom posting for a long time. The fact that some thinks it's fine, can't happen to them, or fought so hard to be a PITA means I stopped caring about others too, we deserve what we get. Kind of got to the point that I started feeling like we should have did nothing in the first place. Like you say, what will be will be, might have been for the best if all the problem people were dead.
I'm just saying to those that have something to live for and expect this to be just like the flu be careful what you wish for as people around you (elderly vaxxed, unvaxxed kids) still might die from it or have long term health ruined. |

It has put our operations in Syd on high alert. We have an operation that uses special machinery that few people have knowledge to run. We've split the team into two and they are to limit contact with each other in and outside of work. Basically if both teams are put into iso due to "close contact" then our Syd operations is stuffed. Am also hearing rumours swirling around that there may be another elite school, all girls, that might be in the same boat on pfizer.
