If I believe what? Confirming what you are saying about Feb 16?

My car is built mate and delivery is on time. Confirmed just last Tuesday.
More fool you if you think they are being up front with you saying 'We are in the dark'. I ordered mine Dec 4 and when I signed the dotted line was told Feb 28. Nothing has changed.

I've been read e-mails from ford to the dealers letting them know back in early January that the 16th is the date for the next allocation. For your dealer to only let you know last week confirms my assertion they are full of it and keeping you in the dark.

And I agree you and others in limbo will know more next week. I've been saying this for a while now. I wish everyone that has ordered one all the best and hope your dealer gets the allocation you guys need to get your car. I hope you all get one. Especially old mate RedM from round my way. Fingers crossed Red...I'm very optimistic for you.

Don't be surprised if you do get one that it will be 2016 before you get it.

Sounds like you need a lie down to cool your jets.

You'll get your date next week mate, be positive. I don't think the holden alternative is such a bad thing either. Good luck.

Mind you, its only repeated severe shock travel, spring compression, chassis twisting and bush strain at play so its not all bad.
What's the problem? It is a short and simple test.

ALL cars coming out of the assembly plant are taken up the wobble road. Not just XR8's or ones pulled aside for extra QC.

I would say the problem is people put money down nearly 6months ago and are still waiting for their last V8 falcon..

While we all knew there would be delays I can understand anyone chomping at the bit to get their XR8 as I'm in the same boat n can't wait!

^^^^ That's sounds fine. They may also be checking things like front and rear alignments as the R-Spec/GTF suspension has different alignment settings. A little bit of extra QC should be welcome and I don't think they'll be abusing the cars.

Looking at the GTF they had a set of ICC gauges displaying boost, engine temp, oil temp and G forces. Does anyone know whether this can be retrofitted to the new FGX XR8

Shouldn't be too hard as long as the sensors are all there which I reckon they would be. Talk to ASL on this site..it would just be a flash of the firmware?

Hadn't seen any around Sydney, until the other day. I have now seen 5 on the road. (Ute, G6E, XR6 etc.)

Driving over the blue mountains on Friday night I was behind a white XR6, the rear lights look fantastic at night and are very distinctive. The entire car looks better in the flesh.

There are many in the car yards out west and south west. (Macarthur Ford, Thomson Ford, Peter Warren)

XR8 - Plenty online and the prices vary greatly $$$

Has any of the new xr8 owners tried the launch control and if so give us a rundown on how it works and performs? Also has anyone pulled the fuse or whatever that controls the bimodal exhaust so that it's 'free flowing' a idle?

Hello to all, found this forum a while ago when searching for the FG X , my first post was in this thread (Penske V8 Supercar livery) but the topic was already posted in the pub ..so i'll try again.
Owned a few Holdens and Fords in the past, EH, HT, XD, EA, EL and FG. All great cars with the FG being the pick of the bunch, although, I wish I still had the Kingswood.

Anyway, found these on FB. Is that tail light in the second photo scratched?

The entry screen into vista states that they are manually loading the xr8 and new focus allocation early next week, once this has been done it's a matter of getting the falcons dressed per the orders. Also, new focus!!!!

Updates:

You have to remember that almost every photo out there of the FGX rear lights makes the rear position lamp too "hot white".
In person they are a much nicer deep red!

This is a quick edit of the photo making it more like the real deal.
(Lowered colour temperature)
Just disregard the rest of the photo besides the lamps.

The only accessible light on boot-side rear lamp assembly is the reverse lamp as there is an unserviceable LED position rear lamp.
Besides that the only other LED component on the rear is that sealed spoiler-mounted LED lamp already on the earlier FG models.
Everything else are replacable incandescent bulbs

I only have the XR6T but the manual states that launch control limits RPM to 3250 for the XR8.

I wonder what made some cretin think it was a great idea to throw some paint-like substance on the A-pillar and weathershield and I only washed my FGX a couple of days earlier.

I’m starting to see more and more FG-X’s on the road, today I seen a G6 sedan, then this arvo I seen a Black XR6 ute, and then only moment’s after it traveling in the same direction I seen a White G6E, they look smaller on the road then a FG.

There's a red base Ute that drives on Forrest Road that has the DRL's. Is this just a Ford test mule still running...?

No. Two different systems systems for the touch screen. So unless there is some app for the Sync 2 system then can't really be done. The info is there (as it is for all FG's).

Does anyone know if the FGX has made its way across the ditch yet? I've booked an XR6 from Hertz for next month in NZ, and I'm hoping that I get an FGX.
