Have you seen the colour in person.
I like the colour on the picture
& the colour is usually darker in real life.

What a cluster##CK on proposed build numbers- between 1,060 and 3,000

If only 1,060 these XR8s are going to be so much more exotic and rare than the common garden variety mercs and bmws

Yes I've seen it painted. It's lighter then the pic on the website.

Does that mean they built the other 140 XR8,s at the end of 2014 and not building any more in 2016 ?

The dcb published to go with the allocation stated this allocation was 1064, not the total number, or the year, but this allocation. Just to clarify

Ok, so the 1064 figure is the current allocation to Ford dealers? As someone said that must bring us close to the total 1200 figure that has been talked about for months

Which leaves us with the question that whether this is the last allocation for 2015, or the final allocation of FGX XR8s.

I wonder if Ford are seeing how this allocation sells to see whether its worth doing another amount?

They said they were able to secure extra units(exact amount not stated) and that this allocation went through to December 2015, I believe that there will be more cars after this, they would have stated otherwise fit his was to be the case, the business plan is oct 2016 final production date, and xr8 is part of this plan

If the colour looks like it does in the picture, then its stunning and I would have ordered it over the white. But... The pictures look nothing like the real car. All the images on the website are enhanced to give more depth. I have the white, and it almost looks silver grey on the ford site. Nothing like my car.

I compare the mirrors on the AERO image to the grey mirrors on my white car as a reference point and they are much much darker on the image, which means the actual colour is going to be a lot lighter.

I can't believe they still didn't include the sun glasses holder on the XR8.

Anyway for those who are interested, the FGX sunglasses holder is $217 form ford. Got mine yesterday and will install it this weekend.

Did this on my old FG XR6T, I assume it will be the same process.

I know what your saying.
I never liked Vanish when I saw it on the Fords picture
but fell in love with it in real life. Vanish was a lot darker
in life then the picture.
Will hopefully see Aero in real life before May
then make up my mind.

I'm thankful my wait is almost over. Got confirmation today my car was loaded and on the truck today to SA. Should lay eyes on it Monday. 5 months after the order date. I could wait for it to build but the bit that was painful was knowing it was built and having to wait 10 or so days for some QC bulls$&t.

Cheers Ryan

Anyway, he wanted to know if I was still interested and said they had received 3 in this allocation. It sounded like they had at least 1 if not 2 that were still available.

If anyone is interested there could be an opportunity there.
I think the dealership is call Willis Ford in Wagga.

Cheers.
Hillis have 5 allocated and 2 are sold with deposits paid. Unsure of the specs of the others but can find out for anybody seriously interested, a mate is their stock controller.

We got ours done on holiday in Qld, which turned out to be $200 cheaper and 4 days quicker

When they said that there were no options on the 8 except Manual/Auto and metallic paint you kinda expect that a simple sunglasses holder would be included.... Much lower variants had sunglass holders in the AU series...

Do you have to cut the roof liner to install the sunglass holder?

When I followed up my order with the dealership he read out his allocations to december, they definitely had a much larger allocation of Auto versus Manual.

If you check the poll on this forum the balance seems to lean to more people ordering Manual, so maybe it's a limitation from the factory end that will mean more are Auto?

Yes you need to cut the roof lining. Did it on my FG. Easy 20 min job. There is a writeup with pictures in the tech area.

Don't know why ford think a sunglasses holder is a luxury item for g6e only, my 2013 base model aurion atx had one standard.

Xr8 should have had it standard.

I didn't think the sunglasses thing was such an issue, I never used mine in any of my au's, or my fg. Found them quite redundant really.

Sunglass holders sound good in theory, but awkward to use and the wrap around type sunglasses don't even fit. Found with my previous car that its easier putting them somewhere in the console; I normally use the drink holder in a way they don't get scratched. But most times I'm wearing them, including when leaving the car.

I don't miss the sunglasses holder at all in the XR50.

what i was told by a Melbourne Ford dealer today:

"if you want to see a G6E Turbo, you'll just have to order one"

"there won't be any bargaining on this model, it's the last Falcon so there are no discounts"

I found the second comment particularly amusing.
