Thanks mate. I guess one way to look at it is that the cash is already spent so anything I get back whether up or down is a bonus.

Yep my gmail attempt they sent me a letter. Then made another account via bigpond and it went straight through. They then locked the account as you cant have two accounts. I think it must be just purely random selection.

I wish I was able to get in below $1 but I couldn’t due to delays, as soon as my bpay cleared ( and after asking myself if this is what I wanted to do with my money ) I ended up getting in at $1.13, that night it dropped to $1.02 and $1.13 seemed to be crap, now floating in the 40s, 13 doesn’t seem so bad, if you get in in the 40s or 50s, if and when it gets to $2 you’ll be happy, remember that in April this year it was selling for 2c so if you really want to kick yourself ....

Yep, as soon as my money went in I bought at $1.14, the next day it was around $1.06 to $1.08 so that night I put in an order for a few hundred more and set the price at $1.02, sure enough it went down to $1.01 and my order went through at 1:30am while I was fast asleep.

I should be way out in front but I also picked up some Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin which have dropped since buying.
At least I didn't buy Bitcoin like I had originally planned.

Everything said and done I"m up around $200 in just 4 days which is pretty good considering my only prior knowledge regarding investing was watching Trading Places with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd as a kid!!!

I thought it was unwritten rule that you couldn't have Ripples AND Romes. It was one or the other.
I wore Ripples, people in Romes were, for some reason, the enemy

Ripple on the run down now. In the past half hour that I have been watching it has gone from 15% up for the day to now almost 15% down.

Bitcoin down 33%.

With all these ups and downs how long does it take for your money to be put in/taken out.?

Is it instantaneous or does it have to be done via a broker of some kind?

You make an buy or sell offer on the exchange, your order is filled when someone else makes a opposite order that meets your rules

eg. you want to sell 1BTC @ $22000, it'll wait there until someone wants to buy @ $22000.

You can also put in a market order - which will fulfill instantly at whatever the then price is.

So I saw the message that it was dropping down before. At the same time I got a message to say that I now have funds. So jumped on the phone logged in sat there. Saw it get under $1.10 waited to see if it was still going down. Started to go up. So went to buy and guess what! My phone won't fill the form in to buy!! Pulled out the computer and fired it up but too late... Back to $1.50 again. Man this is a rollercoaster!

Or just set it to buy at a price $1.10 for example and just hope it gets back down there again, that way you don’t need to be on all the time, the market will do the buying for you like sioso did
