Trust me ... i have heard a 4L I6 with rebuilt engine/head ... aggressive cam ... etc, etc. And that thing was an animal of a vehicle. Shame the owner didn't have the available funds to finish it off though.

Rolled over the line for a 14.01 1/4 mile .... after hitting limiter and going in LHM ... would have been well into the 13s. This was after short gears were put in the rear. Was crazy to drive on the street. It was mean.

Don't think I'll see another hard Fairmont like that again.

2.5 inch? Come off it, youd be wanting at least 3 inch.

If Joe had the time to just work on one and get the R&D for it complete he would ... but the problem is he is flat stick with normal everyday work ... he has one other mechanic ... and that is it ... bread-and-butter work comes first ... and there's a lot of drop-ins with problems with LPG that want Joe to fix their problems on the spot.

That's a disappointment. I'm at a crossroads with my EL. Do I get a $15-20K loan and buy a B series or do I rebuild the six in 'er with a small personal loan of less than $10K? Was hoping Joe would be ready by now to help me with my decision.

~dreaming~ 4.6L on LPG...... the money I'd save on fuel would go straight towards tyres :

Don't put more money into the EL. Go a B series, or go an AU2-3 XR8.

All the best with your decisions.

If you poured $15-20k into a nice B-series, you'd see most of your money again, if you poured $10k into your EL you'd be guaranteed not to see a cent of that money again. It's the difference between what we call 'bad debt' and 'ugly debt'. Personally, if i can't pay cash for a car or upgrades, i just go without.

Who cares how he spends his money as long as he has fun. I spent $30000 on the Monty and sold it for $3800. Am I shattered, no. Will I do it again? I already am. As long as Im having fun, and enjoying what I do, I dont care.
Noone here is having a whinge when you guys spend $10000 a year on Alcohol and cigarette's (neither of which I do). Because you enjoy it. You dont see any money back for stuff like that.

there are only few cars that make returns on investment
they are vintage/classic cars.. and kit cars
IE a GT40 replica.. cost $90k to build.. sell for $110k
who cares what he spends money on.. its all dead money..

And can you show me where I can buy a BA for 10k, sink $20k into it and get back $25000? I dont think Ive ever seen a BA XT sell for more then $12000 for about 3 years regardless of how many mods are done to it.

if you buy a new car, your stuck with debt for so many years, plus insurance rego, maintence, tyers, on road costs etc

all my money goes into my car. i dont go to pubs or buy drugs or sprits or alcahol

so far i have spent 7 grand on the car, not including the sale price, and i will keep going with the spendage on it, cause i love to see it looking good,

i rather spend my money and of course save at the same time on my car in which i will get enjoyment for many years to come, and dont have to worry about debts and other stuff,
