As far as can see scrolling through the posts it just comes down to a preference with only a few more liking the XA Coupe curves over the more boxy XY. If it was a vote on what someone would buy, money no object, it may have had a different outcome because of a different criteria?
It's all good we are pretty lucky that Ford did produce some of the best cars in that era.

Id definantly be in the minority then. I would never outlay even a portion of todays going prices to buy a phase 3....
Iv thought for a hell of a long time they are overpriced cars for what you get. Bang for buck shows plenty of better choices.
And even if money was no object or consideration, a wise person who had that much money would still consider the $$ value.
That said, Id spend Phase 3 money to buy as many rare combo RPO83 XA GT Coupes instead.

Iv never aspired to own a Phase 3, and never will. I certainly dont desire one either, for lotsa reasons.
They just do nothing for me. Well that covers the whole XY range in general.

Had the Phase 2 been the king, that would have been a little diffrent story.
I think the XW smashes the XY for looks and outright aggression.
Had the XW's had the shaker, they would have been perfection in that body shape. The XY looks soft in comparo to the XW. OMHO..

Here is the breakdown of how we got here - for those who may have missed the previous rounds...

Thank you for your voting....
Whilst this wasn't the most entertaining and factual way of fighting it out - it has given an INTERESTING result, and I hope that a few of you have enjoyed this light hearted GT Falcon World Cup...

If you like what you've seen - i'd love the +rep added?

Cheers

I'm wrapped with the result, which was kinda why I wanted to begin this in the first place... I thought we might be suprised with the results...

Having said that - being a 'knockout' competition - the results could vary if the matchups were different... (though the heavyweights usually make it thru regardless)...

Whilst the Phase 3 does get the most 'press' and has the biggest pricetag going around... The XA has the look and the style that I believe is unmatched still to this day...

Thanks for the responses... and perhaps in a little while i'll roll out another one ...
with the suggestions made - might get some interesting responses again!!!

Cheers

Interesting result. I thought the Phase III would take it.
