I have a march build may compliance 2012 focus titanium and when a friend of mine who is a engineer at broadmedows checked it's SIDO number it came up as a focus mark 2 so I don't know if that means I can update to sync with just software or if there are other changes required, or will Thai built cars be known as mark 3 ?

The letter O is invalid in a vin so I presume yours is WF0KXXGCBKCB74304

hmm i was told that my car had docked on the 19th and i am supposed to be getting the thai build. Maybe the thai builds arent allowed to hit the road until August? All of the articles seem to indicate that August is when its supposed to happen.

For the new Thai Focus to be launched in August the cars must be here already. So the cars should be kept under wraps. I read that the Thai Rayong plant will also launch the Focus in August.

Yes he got the second to last build.

Interestingly his USB is in the centre console - any one else have this? Mine is in the glove box like in the manual.

Are the brochures the sames ones from the ford website?
Yes, the wheels look cool. The bad thing is the Thai Sports Focus is only available in hatch.

The US model comes with optional My Ford Touch on certain models. It has a large touch screen, though the system is known to be far from perfect. None of our models will use the My Ford Touch interface, yet

Easiest way to tell the country of origin is to look at it's VIN number.

The first digit is the country identifier.

W = Germany
M = Thailand
K = Korea
6 = Australia

Etc.

Just went on carsales, and the LW mkII Focus seems to be up, but there aren't any pics available for any of them. Guess it won't be long till we start seeing them on the roads or on the back of tracks!

How do we find out if there is a repair bulletin for our German LW's? In the US there have been multiple TSB's . In the Thai build the active grill shutters are now standard across the range surely something has been discovered to motivate this change?

Fuel Economy - product improvement. When the shutters are closed there is less drag and this effects what they program into the ADR compliant emissions test. Which then provides fuel effciency numbers.

Received our first Thai built Trends in the other day...

Changes not originally noted but have been carried out include:

Changed Seat Material design - something simple but it's nice
CENTRE CONSOLE!!!
New Air Conditioning knobs - look nice IMO

Omissions include no sunglasses holder in roof as mentioned it would be in DCB
Height adjustment in the headlights has been taken out

And also, not only have the indicator and wiper stalks been swapped, so has the cruise and stereo controls as well.

Other than that, materials feel as good a quality as the German built Focii, put together well and still quality product.

I'm not convinced on the 'series badge' being on them....I preferred just teh Focus badge, but that's just me.
