So take it down to local manufacturing for Holden supports 5000 jobs, and work out that Holden make roughly 1/3 of the cars made in Australia, then 3 x 5000 is pretty basic maths.

And for the record, an indirect job is just a term to fluff up a report.
Total number of jobs involved in Automotive (either through Toyota, Ford, Holden or component suppliers is suggested to be around 50,000, indirect jobs are more again.

If you don't like the 50,000 figure go argue with FAPM or the department of Industry http://www.innovation.gov.au/industr...istics2012.pdf

The tables on page 14, say that there is 50,000 employed in the automotive industry. Someone selling an imported corolla is employed in the automotive industry. The second table on page 14 says 20 cars are produced per employee. There will be just over 200,000 cars produced in Australia this year. As stated before, very basic maths.

As Bill M says, dont feed the troll, just go halvies in a calculator with him.

No need to go halves in a calculator, although you will need to tell me where you got yours from because its quiet unique in how it operates.

The number of jobs lost, should the automotive industry fail, is likely to be a lot higher that what you seem to be able to comprehend.

Feel free to read up on how many jobs will be lost (rather than "bob facts") here is an article which lays out the losses are (mind you they use the same calculators that the rest of us use, so feel feel to put your unique spin on the figures)
