Yep, would have been easier if I had a knuckle adapter for my socket set, as some of the bolts & screws were quite awkward to undo.

What you may find is the car will derate without an intercooler also installed, but the standard car would also, so the delta gain is still the same.

In terms of mountune in Australia, here's the official line:

Ford is currently exploring opportunities to bring Mountune products to Australia through its Dealer network. There is a great deal of back office work required to offer Mountune’s range of products to the Australian market, which includes meeting legal and legislative requirements specific to Australia. The good news is, Ford has gone through a number of gateways to date. The next stage is physical ADR testing and assessment, which can’t be based on information from other markets. Should ADR testing be successful, Ford hopes to make an official announcement towards the end of 2014 on the availability of Mountune products in Australia."
Kinda sick of waiting and as soon as I have enough money saved up, I'm pulling the trigger!
I spoke with a good friend of mine who is a senior engineer at ford aus on friday(8/8) and he has done some enquires with hs work coleagues including all who work in calibration (he says most likely first stop for any local checking of mountunes mp215 kit) and none of them have had any work at all on any mountune products at all, he also went on to say that it could be able to be signed off without any physical testing here (says above statment about adr's is incorrect as uk and euro info is enough to sign off here if it has been signed off on base car as stated above) but that he would expect them to at least install on 1 car just to give it a quick run thru. his considered opinion is that 1 of 2 things is happening and they are

1.nothing will happen with mountune at all as far as ford aus is concerned (more likely)
or
2.it is with the bean counters and pencil pushers who will be going thru all the "crap" with warrantys, who pays for training to install, how will it be distributed(all dealers or selected) and everything else to do with the buisness case for bringing it in factory approved

in view of the above conversation i will be writing to mountune to see if they have any new information as to there beliefs as to if or when there products will become available here

Everything will be fitted to the car once I have the complete puzzle on hand.
Pumaspeed have a short shifter Kit for only $142.00 why pay Mountune, s inflated price when you can get the a product 5 equal quality for less money and they normally deliver within 5 days to Sydney Australia. This Kit with their superb PS 215 or 240 hp retunes will be ideal partners

Bit the bullet and got the bluefin tune. Can't compare to other tunes obviously but it's certainly turned my car in to a beast.

Pumaspeed do a set off great tunes ranging from 215hp to 280hp they are really smooth and have excellent driveability alinng wIth 320nm torque. Had Mountune stage1 the Pumaspeed is better everywhere

Not advisable to do without the intake.
With flash tunes you should always follow the required hardware.
- Not having a dig at you at all but people loading tunes without the hardware has been the cause of many an RS tune to get a bad rep in Australia.

Files are created using certain hardware. If you use different hardware from what was originally used the expected result is not the same.
Common example that we see a lot of in Australia is exhausts on the XR5 focus. People get a larger down/dump pipe and sports cat/decat but leave the rest of the system stock then expect the same gains as advertised by the file creator.

Superchips files are created using De cats, here in Australia the penalties are far greater if caught using a decat than in the UK so sports cat is the only option. If loading a file that requires a sports cat or decat and you stick with the stock cat even with changing the rest of the system it wont ever give you the same gains

No just stage 1 bluefin. Spoke to john about stage 2 but don't think I need the extra power.

Has stage 2 been released now with their custom air box? When I last spoke to john it was still in testing.

yep it has, got this the other day :

Dear Superchips dealer,

We are delighted to announce the introduction of our Superchips High Flow Direct Air Induction System (DAIS) for the Ford Fiesta ST180, developed in collaboration with Graham Goode Racing (GGR).

This tuning package consists of the product hardware (see the attached photos) and a custom Stage 2 remap. It is a completely engineered package - the High Flow DAIS hardware is designed to complement the Stage 2 remap, neither the remap nor the hardware will work correctly on their own. The DAIS and custom remap are also compatible with sports catalysts and full decat exhausts.

It will be necessary for your customer to have already installed our Stage 1 remap using a bluefin handset.

Thanks. I don't understand the last bit about needing stage 1 already? Surely a customer can jump straight to stage 2 mapping a plus air box?

Looks like you need the handset (which has the stage 1) to load the stage 2. Stage 2 doesn't include the handset from what I have read.

Any ideas on pricing? Considering the GGR intake is rather expensive for just a pod/MAF adapter/Intake Hose. My plan was to run the K&N Apollo CAI with the stage 2, and accompany it with the other hardware.

Speaking to john the air box has custom sensors to get around the issues with reprogramming the locked part of the ECU. Im sure it's far more technical than that but sounded necessary to get a proper result with stage 2 superchips.

You are correct, customer must already have stage 1 as then they will already have the handset.
