The "Mum and Dad" voters are the ones I am just down right sick of having look down on me because I drive a V8 on my p's. Sure the car is powerful and when i drive down the road it sounds like im going fast and occassionally I give it a rev to make noise and attract attention. But I also do 40km/h in school zones which is more then I can say for a significant number of parents who pick up/ drop off their kids to school. I also obey other road rules. If revving it up is being a poser or whatever. Big deal, it shouldn't be illegal.

Oh but it should.

Nearly anywhere where you are likely to 'attract attention' by pointlessly revving an engine, there will be homes and businesses who should not have unwarranted noise inflicted upon them just to soothe your need to be looked at. It's unfair and unacceptable, which I'm sure you'll conceed if you really think about it.

While it would be possible to state that any given person does not do it often, say perhaps once or twice a given 'cruise' night, the fact that every person who seems to like doing this kind of thing seems to do it at around the same place and time. The sum total is a lot of annoyance for people in the area. Seeing as how you live nearby, I'm thinking Argyle Street on any given Thursday to Saturday night here.

I live close enough to know it happens a lot. I have no kids trying to sleep, nor am I a shift worker, but if I was I can assure you I'd be none too happy with it. I'm not in any way impressed as it is.

All in all, it'd be no different to me sitting in your drive at all hours and revving the hell out of it in the hopes of being noticed, it would be impolite and vastly irritating for anybody nearby.

Had fun this morning (5.50 AM) going into Ringwood were the road works are, It's a marked 40km/h zone and I was able to follow the cops threw the 40 zone at 90km/h, the cops were in a holden crew cab divy van, in the far left lane and I was 4 car lenths back in the right hand lane, now if it had been the other way around I would have my car inpounded by now.
