Boys & girls, if you buy anything for the AU this year, make sure you buy one of these twin pod mounts. I grabbed one for myself last week. Aly/Bri - you guys have done a fantastic job with these. It sits so perfectly, I don't even need to velcro it in. Doesn't interfere with the ashtray and looks fantastic!! Doesn't look out of place at all. Had a friend see it the other day and he thought it was a Ford option so there ya go. Shows how well it's been made

Unfortunately the gauge I had didn't fit (it's a little too big) but after a bit of determintation it kinda does now LOL. I've had that particular gauge for well over a year and finally, it has a place to sit.

Haven't taken pics as yet. I'm still looking for a particular gauge (Bri might remember our idea on what gauge I want to put in) Still trying to find the right one. When I do and get it all hooked up, pics will follow.

People, this pod mount for our AU's is well worth the money. Aly and Bri, I must thank you both for taking the time to develop this for our AU's. I know how much time and effort you's have thrown at this project and to see the final product - well, all I can say is THANKYOU!!

Krissy

Smiths gauges are nice indeed.
I am awaiting the 2nd batch (as I am recovering from Xmas financially).
Thn to find me some gauges.

It's good to see some gauges in the pod as well to show the exact angle they will sit on. Nice work indeed. And Black to suit my interior too ... even better.

Actually, they look really good Whoosh. They suit well. Had a look at some on eBay but they're just too flashy. Old school looks simple and nice. Went to Autobarn mate but I couldn't find any Speco ones on special. Guy reckons they never had any on sale. Sure it was Autobarn?

No offence, and I can see the reasons for people wanting these guages, but that has got to be the ugliest design of anything I have ever seen for the interior of the AU (Well there is one more, but I won't go into that). It's hard to tell from the latest picture, but the pics before, the colour match between the centre console and the casing of the guage's makes it look cheap and tacky. The finish (from the pictures) looks ordinary. The latest picture, it all blends niceley and doesn't look too bad, but from the earlier photo, not a fan at all.

I know you guys have put a lot of effort and hard work into the design and development and a lot of people are happy with, which is good to see, but I just don't like the look of it.

I'm a visual man. Never been one for functionality or performance, so for me as a visual thing for my car, it's terrible. It's gotta look the part. But this is just my opinion. Others seem impressed.

I guess Autometer's 2 1/16" gauges (52.4mm) should be fine then.

Hmmm .... Looks like I found myself a couple of nice gauges ... now to save for them.
Autometer Cobalt gauges todo look nice indeed. Also Autometer's Old skool range of gauges look nice as well ... classic black face with chrome thin bezel.

Decisions.

I gotta get the gauge pod yet ... have just paid for it now.
Will post pics when I get them.
Can't wait now ... now to find the right gauges for it.
I think I will keep is simple though ... nothing flash.
I really do like those Smith's gauges (the design and simplicity of them) as they go well with the Warm Charcoal interior.

And speaking of useless ... I'll be contacting Stav once I am ready to get him to install them

You can both in short-sweep in:
Old Tyme Black

I was looking at getting the Air/Fuel Ratio Meter, but none have a chrome edge.

If i was going to match I'd try and keep them both the same style ... I'd prefer full sweep though ... but if I can't get the ones I want in Full ... I'll get the short-sweep models.

Really need a wide band O2 sensor for an A/F gauge to work properly though.
Get a temp probe for you airbox and put an Intake air temp gauge in

They look pretty nice..

I'm gonna settle for the first two. I want to keep it plain and simple, and only white & black, with chrome.

Gotta find some prices now.

Cheers

Daim.. I found the Old Tyme Black ones and others, for ~$100/ea. The Cobra ones, can't be that much more expensive.

Let us know how you go b2tf. Thanks
