The latest chops are really getting me excited, not 100% on the rear with that wing but the front is pure porn.

um.... that looks sizzling hot!!
its a pity that alot of people are defecting to cheap korean knockoffs. and have this anti australian attitude that people have this day. Now. as far as technology goes. the comparable taurus gets this: SYNC® with MyFord® or MyFord Touch® Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert Active Park Assist Lane-Keeping System MyKey® I'm sure they must get some of that gear right? |

I'd happily get one even if it had all that gear. i would turn it all off though.
all this technology is slowly making drivers clueless on the road. quite dangerous when you cant even trust your own judgement anymore. leave it to a sensor or something instead. god people are f*$King stupid these days. but you need to have this stuff in a car because when you go to sell it in the future. people will look for these features like they are the most important things. |

That "crap" has been around in many cars for a lot longer.
Still seems to be working.

There is no way that in 10 years the tech involved in todays ipod, bluetooth and sat nav connectivity will be particularly useful. The old stereo input is the only one that may still be usable. Maybe.

Don't expect new tech... Updates to current systems yes, new systems not in the current fg II.......most prob not
Ford has said this before, the money is being spent on appearance not tech.. This is not a vf type upgrade ! Maybe I'm too old but I agree with many on here the tech side in a car is not my selling point.. As soon as I need a festiva to park itself for me then I'll give up and walk. If you can't park a car you should not be driving it at any speed !

Yes if you can't park a car or can't keep it in the lane then you shouldn't be driving.
In 20 years time when you get this Falcon out of the Garage to drive the Kids of the day will be horrified because you will be driving it and it wont be fully automated and driving itself.

Read a forum or comments section on motoring.com.au or other general media when there are articles on Australian cars and you will read people with scorn and contempt for our local product. Very sad to read and so often they are wrong and completely ignorant, but are speaking from the populist view or perception they've absorbed from others, not least our own motoring press that has been labelling falcodore owners as bogans for the last 6 years or so. I've noticed a substantial % of top gear and motor magazine articles have played on or referenced this stereotype and this started around 2008. Anyone remember the f6 winning top gear mag's performance car of the year when they headlined the article "bogan pride". Could you get a more backhanded compliment It makes me fume how aust motoring press have turned their backs on our industry

Thats why intelligent and effective Marketing of Australian cars is so important - where sadly Ford Au has failed dismally since the BA. Last edited by stevefreestyle; 19-02-2014 at 09:38 AM. |

Good products sell, its that simple, yes amazing marketing can help but if the core product is not what the market wants or the competition offers more for less then why would someone buy it.

The funny thing is that all of the hard work has been done in the USA as to how a next generation Falcon could have went.
The development work in the aluminium body technology to decrease weight and the engines the F-Series will be using would be awesome in a vehicle with even less weight have all been developed.

It will be interesting to know whether Ford is ok with people chopping and posting (not just here) or they would prefer people to know exactly whats coming?
If it was me I would want to arrest the Commodore sales as much as I could (perhaps a moot point these days), those who buy FG's now will do so perhaps if they "have" to make a purchase before FH or if the deals Ford put on are so good it would be silly not too. From Ford's point of view I dont think current sales could get much worse, and should be overly impacted if hey released say a designers sketch.

Yes labour costs and general market shift from large sedans in general were major contributing factors, alongside global ford engineering of the sales slide (no falcon marketing and withholding tech upgrades to falcon commonly available in other global fords). 55 years of falcon is not a failed business case, and I dispute your flakey quality reference. I've had 5 falcons over the years spanning every major series (x,e, b , f) and never had a major problem with any of them. I'm sure plenty have had problems, but as a forum of enthusiasts, we hear about every last one of them. Don't think for a minute that most other manufacturers aren't having plenty of problems with their cars as well. Cars will always have small or big problems from time to time Good products don't just sell, they need to be promoted (especially in a highly competitive market). They also need good pr, something lacking from both ford internally and from aust motoring writers, otherwise there is no desire to be connected with the brand Most on here have strong brand loyalty built up from many years or decades of great experience with the brand, but if you don't have that already, you certainly wouldnt be attracted to the falcon as a new buyer with negativity regarding the brand over the past 6 years
