Hi,

I have owned several Holden's, a Nissan and several Toyotas, but I have now ended up with a Ford BA mk II LPG. Perhaps it is destiny.

Do I think the BA is better than the VZ I used to own? So far, I must answer yes.

Generally, I love cars and I relax detailing cars. At least one car yard in Sydney is using some stuff I made up which is pleasing as its a hobby from day job.

Im feeling the difference.

Regards
Dave

Hey everyone, I'm Lyndon but my mates call me Lynno.
I'm an IT Manager/Project Manager by profession and I surf almost daily. Otherwise, it's spearfishing, fishing, photography, women and beer.
I lost my beloved straight-six EF a few years back when my old man sent her to the wreckers after she broke down for the last time. I was determined to repair it, but given the cost and lack of specialised tools, etc, his actions are understandable (I'm being as diplomatic as possible here). It was my first car (paid 50/50 by the parents) and I had it for 12 years (since I was 16) so it was pretty gutting to lose her.
I'm now 29 and determined to have a Falcon XB or XC sedan in the driveway by the end of the year so I want to learn as much about XB's and XC's as possible so I can work on her myself. I don't have much car experience, but I'm quick to learn and good with my hands, which should hopefully limit the number of stupid questions I ask.
I look forward to meeting everyone and becoming a part of the local Ford community!
Cheers, Lynno

Hi guys, Steve from Sydney. Love Fords, have had them all my life (first car was a 2 door escort!) until I traded my pride and joy on a 'family friendly' 7 seat Kluger. While we are keeping this I am now I am looking to get my toy back! Probably a BA XR8 or similar, I feel like something has been missing from my life. Looking forward to getting to know everybody and learn from the great pool of knowledge available here.

Hi guys,
I'm returning to Ford after a hiatus of about eight years. My beloved Windsor powered XY wagon went on to someone who was in a better position to love her than I was

I'm waiting on delivery of a Mondeo Titanium Wagon, TDCI in Moondust Silver.

I'm currently driving a VY II Berlina Wagon, with the Gen III motor (Ford lost out when I got that one, as they weren't offering the eight in wagon form).

Looking forward to an exchange of opinions/ideas and information with other forum members.

Steve

Hi Barbara here new to this site and we own two Fords nothing fancy but they get us around. The reason I came here is because we have a 1994 Ford econovan maxi 2wheel drive and we are desperate for a workshop manual for it as we need to do it up as we want to travel in it and it needs work done on it. Tried every avenue I can think of for one even tried Ford head office but they were less than helpful so hoping someone out there can help

Howdy from Darwin!

Just bought my first ford.. a 2008 G6ET... got to wait for it to get trucked up from Sydney now

Was just looking at getting a more refined comfortable city car (also have a 4wd) and when I saw the turbo versions aren't much more 2nd hand I thought "why not?"

Have never owned a sporty car at all but I do enjoy driving my mates FPV GS... but I'd rather a softer ride that these G6ET's apparently have. I also was happy just to have 18" rims for this reason.

So yeah can't wait - haven't driven one of these yet but they're apparently very vice.

Hi all. First time in and looking for a resolution to a problem. Driving my brother falcon at the moment and it runs like a dog. Idles rough, drives as if the choke, if it had one, was out. Can sit at close to 80 on the flat without foot on accelerator. His mechanic says it might be a blown inlet manifold but I don't think that would explain the high idle/running. Would like to get some thoughts before he returns from holiday.

Cheers all.

Hi Mate. What model Falcon and what engine do you have?

Manifold air leaks can cause high idle speed.

G'Day Everyone, In my case I'm a little confused! This forum is meant for "Newbies" - Well Guys it's been a long time since I was "New"! Yeah, I'm gettin' on a bit - But with that comes experience! For a start, I have learned that by keeping my BA Fairmont pretty standard looking (XR wheels & suspension), Plod leaves me alone (Boring, huh?), and by keeping. The motor stock (just intake, exhaust, polished alloy & stainless), I get amazing economy and reliability (YeahI know, boring again!). Still I really enjoy reading what some of you are able to achieve, and when I do that, I briefly return to my youth - Thanks guys, from a reminiscing "Olde Bloke"!
