Went to the Caboolture Regional Car Club swap meet and show and shine last Saturday. Reasonable but not overwhelming turnout.

Besides all the usual suspects, there were a few rare cars you don't see that often such as a (turbo) Detomaso Pantera,

and a Marcos.

Weather was warm and sunny after a cool start, making it a great morning to wander around checking out all and sundry.

I quite liked this rather original XB 4 door:

Love that De Tomaso.

Spotted a couple regulars in Benalla today.
Often see an old bloke getting around in his immaculate army green XW Falcon ute and a nice original stark white XE sedan.

I always liked the xe series and miss seeing them around. I know it's been 40 years (!!!), but I wonder why there dont seem to be more around. Ford sold a heap of them.

Not sure if the change to unleaded fuel in 1986 might have condemned a lot of them to the scrapyard prematurely.....?

Vh commodore wagon. It was a sl 6 cylinder. Full reg and looked restored as in paint looked too good to be original and the side stripe stickers looked new too.

Hence why most that are still on the road are usually found inland away from the humidity and salt of coastal areas.

Heard before I spotted it, a Silhouette manual FGX XR8 this morning. Such a distinctive exhaust note, which made me look up from what I was doing.

Also, a purple LX Torana A9X.

Maverick, blue, parked in a covered spot on Grimshaw St, Greensborough; heading east on Grimshaw, the Maverick is just past Main St, on the left. Looks like it's been there a while.

No idea why but I would love one of the Turbo models, even the Vigin and Griffith and kind of cool.

There were three of those late-model Corona's in our street at one stage. The
gossip three doors down had the horrible looking SR model with stripes and a body kit, like this one.................

Her husband drove a Corona wagon.

And the guy next door had a Avante sedan.

Horrible things.
