Seeing that Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam wins is still safe.

Called my sister today. Well, actually i called her husband first. He didnt answer. Hence my calling my sister. Havent spoken to her in 3 or 4 years and we had a nice conversation, no bad blood or anything. The reason i called was strictly business with her husband, but he and i get along and whilst we havent spoken per say in years, we are all good. Its family business, not between them or i, its about my dads will and the fact they paid funeral costs etc. So maybe not the best way to reconnect, but im trying to sort them out before the final business, and my sister answered the phone. I was half expecting her to have a diferent number in the years past.

Met up with a couple of Canadian guys who put a post on Reddit, asking if anyone in Sydney wanted to meet up while they were out here on holiday. We'd been chatting a little beforehand, to make sure we had stuff in common, and weren't nutters.
Had lunch in Darling Harbour, a beer in Cockle Bay, and then went for a walk across the Harbour Bridge, catching a ferry back to Circular Quay. Was a good day. And now I have contacts for when I eventually make it to Toronto!

Had a spend up at Supercheap and Bunnings, some of Bunnings stuff half the price of SC, got the welder for $300 down from $500 at SC and a panel stand.
Now to pysch myself up to start some rust repairs on the XC. Once I start there'll be no turning back, so fingers crossed. Got top do some practice before hand, newby to Mig, only ever used arc for minor repairs to things.

I hadnt worked with my apprentice since tuesday. Something that happened on tuesday he would not shut up about and that left the door open for me to talk so much bs today. So on tuesday we did a job for a place and i was catching up with the receptionist about what we did on the weekend etc. The apprenti and i get in the lift and the first thing he says is did i check her out, she is gorgeous. I said i know, shes smart and interesting too, she has already given me her number. He says im full of it. So i show him some photos of her on girls nights out and how theres hundreds of texts forward and back. He was just lost at that point. So his carry on today, he was saying stuff like she will run as soon as she finds out i have a kid. She already knows that. He went silent when i let him know ive taken her out before. The crap talk i was saying was dumb stuff like being as good looking as i am is often a disability as women dont think they are good enough for me and dont approach me, but the best absolute bs line i used on the apprentice, was i looked him in the eye, and said he reminds me of myself at his age, except i was smarter, better looking and for the life of me couldnt stop getting laid. The social banter at work some times is top notch.

Got a delivery of new glass bottles ready for the annual tomato sauce making.
A bit of back story - The recipe for our tomato sauce has been in the family for many years. My Grandmother used to make every February and would share with the wider family. As Nan got older I used to help out, an apprenticeship of sorts I suppose. When Nan passed I took the reins of the moulie and the big saucepan and continued the tradition and likewise share it with the family. My Grandmother was a nurseryman and gardener, something that I followed in her footsteps. She was as much a mentor and friend as she was my Nan. Making this sauce, with her stained and dog eared handwritten cookbook by my side, helps me remember her in my own special way.

The sham impeachment of Donald Trump is over.
Four more years! (just so I can get to see more libtard tears)

Feels good just to able to relax this arvo. It looks like the threat from the Orroral fire has past in my area. It hasn't been upgraded for the last few days and there has been a huge effort to contain it.
The worse case modelling was very bad for the south Canberra suburbs last weekend so it could of been a different story. The emergency services and ADF have done a great job the last week and a bit. |

The draining of the swamp continues. James Comey, Peter Strzok, Gordon Sondland, Alexander Vidman. Just to name a few of them. More to follow.

Interesting you’re missing the rain so distinctly, it’s falling lightly into the Riverina from the south-west slopes. Wagga seems to be doing alright from it.

The whole NE Vic hasn't had any. Checked VT yesterday, nothing. Radar front shows it down to around The Rock, Henty.

Makes me think of that old “TV Blooper” where the female newsreader says to the weather bloke (about the snow situation) “Where’s that nine inches you promised me last night?”...
1mm/m2 is 1 litre, definitely can’t knock it... |
