Had a bit of a sleepless night with the weather, but when i woke up i read an article saying its falling in catchment areas and dam levels are rising. Yeah, water restrictions i cant see being lifted any time soon, but atleast its falling in the right places for a change. I was losing sleep being paranoid that a big branch from a tree the council cant make a property i share a boundry with trim overhangs my house. It didnt come down thankfully, it would probably come through my roof and crush me in my bed, yeah, shes a big branch. The last big branch to come off that tree flattened the garden shed of the house 2 doors down. So also happy my house is ok. Now i dont speak Mandarin, but when the last big branch came down i heard the metallic crash bang, and then the universal sound of a wife yelling at her husband, I did the thing you do, offered a hand and with my chainsaw helped out. But atleast bar a few smaller but still decent branches coming off the grubs tree, no damage has yet occured.

Have had to pump pool out a few times now
brimming again.

Had 170-odd mm the last couple of days ... already 30mm last couple of hours.
Catchment is not far west of me ..... and the current Sydney radar is covered with moderate rain .... so lets hope it gets more than the predicted rise they were expecting.

Mate, youd do the same. Theres no way my neighbours would cut that up with a blunt 30 year old wood saw. I have the tools for the job, my chainsaw id already cleaned up my trees, so its more or less up for rent. I have a wood saw for smaller stuff, its just what you do when people are in a tine of crisis. Crisis isnt the correct word, but maybe more shock that the flat pack shed is flat again.

Thanks for that ... these palms are meant to be slightly yellow most of the time as well.
But not this yellow

I couldn’t tell if that was golden cane palm or a Kentia. The former are really hard to kill, if that’s what they are - just give it a few weeks.

Starting to run out of ways to occupy the demented one. Too wet for an outing and he’s getting short of un-licked windows.

One of Konfetka’s mate’s has had his garage in Hornsby inundated while at work today, therewithin being the beer fridge (moment of silence please), a nice Honda touring bike (another moment of silence) and a Victory cruiser in generally tidy condition. They’ll be cactus if bike write-off rules are the same as cars.

It definitely is gold cane palm ... and the good thing is they don't get too big and should be happy in a pot that size.

My front Photinias should come back nicely after the drenching. The Orange Blossoms are going well surprisingly .. my front lawn ... will see after we get some sun/heat and see how it recovers. It's soddon here though for now.

Aldi Gardenline, B&S motor with plastic carby.

Payment was huge gratitude and a doggy bag of falafel plus home-made aioli. Probably best I stay downwind of my clients tomorrow.

A Briggs, then.

My flooded-garage mate is nicknamed Medvezhonok (Медвежонок). It means “little bear”. He’s quite sanguine about the whole drama, especially now the bikes are running again.

Not so much feel good as have a chuckle at the juxtaposition.

Aldi catalogue this week: P1 long-stemmed roses, P3 fresh meat.

My local bottlo also import. Today i thought id treat myself to asahi's. So the normal ones we get over here are brewed in china under licence and 4.9%. Theyre nice, but whenever the bottlo has ones they bring in from the uk or europe they keep them out the back. These guys always hook me up. They had a batch of 5.2% ones brewed in italy. Problem is they got screwed over by customs so theyre only days from the best before date. Didnt phase me, im drinking them tonight. The boys hooked me up, $14 per 6 pack and theyre going down smooth.

Good mornings work plus errands done.
Finished this off then had the long drive interstate (Albury) to renew the 5 year licence which was almost due. Seems they don't do on the spot licences anymore so ended up with a temp paper one.

Haven't had one of these for 30 something years.

Came back to my car and saw a blue XM next to it.

A Citroën XM, not a Falcon.

Smoo - there may be an ivy green facelift XM needing a 4HP22 up for negotiation.
