Wow. Can o worms. I’ll reiterate. I grew up with cats. 23 years in fact. I wouldn’t own one after owning small dogs. But I’m completely happy for you who like them to have them. Your choice is ok

I’d love a miniature foxie or JRT. But a cat is good enough. It was cheap to buy at the shelter ($50 fully desexed and vaccinated, came with its own play toys) and should last reasonably well. The Tile tracker around its neck was almost as dear.

I like my cat because it's a ratter, better than a Foxie I reckon, but it eats rats face first, alive and I get the back bit, kidneys etc, just leaves what's left at front door, it's a very efficient vermin exterminator! Cheers Billy |

... Many parents went from "I don't understand my kid's 6th grade math homework" to...
"I'm an infectious disease expert" in just 6 months? |

Why is it in some European countries they have a requirement to swap from winter to summer tyres and vice versa, yet in the top end of Australia where there is a wet and dry season there is no allowance for people to use slick tyres on vehicles? The grooves do nothing when there is no water.

Summer tyres are generally what is fitted to all Australian market vehicles. They are not suited to snow and ice. The US market also have all-season tyres that have attributes of both winter and summer tyres. Both winter and all season tyres have degraded levels of grip in dry conditions.

I have been to the top end. I know it rains in summer (wet season). But I also know that it does not rain during winter (dry season).

But you have to love the Territory to live through the 2 seasons, the wet and the dry, you know when the wets about to stop, you get this crazy magnificent wind, it's the " knock me down wind" and it flattens all the long grasses that have grown up to 6 feet tall, the wind appears out of nowhere and that's it, no wet season Cheers Billy |

More a “How is it…”
My Covid-unsafe neighbour came over yesterday with a flyer for Reevo e-bikes. He’s big on entrepreneurship and startups. How would you change a tyre on a hubless e-bike? |

Why is it that "range eggs' which are supposed to be free cost more than caged.eggs.
The checkout operators never seem to understand when I ask for an explanation as to why I was charged for free eggs.

Why is it that towns like Bathurst and Orange are in an area known as the 'Central West' and yet Cooma is referred to as being in the 'South East' of the state, and yet they share, roughly, the same longitude?
