Nice try but it's considerably more likely that they have simply been under-reporting considering that the WHO 'excess deaths' figure for Africa is something like 10x the 'official' COVID deaths reported and between 10-15x for India but hey, keep living in the realm of fantasy.

Thanks Russ, the internet allows “fantasy’s” to exist, and Wackos’ to post rubbish like that.

Australia suspends flights from African countries
By Mathew Dunckley

Quote:
Mr Hunt said all flights from the nine affected African countries will be suspended for two weeks as a precaution.

The travel restrictions also apply to people, such as international students and skilled migrants arriving under travel bubble arrangements who have been in any of the nine countries within the past 14 days.

For anyone who has already arrived in Australia and who has been in any of the nine countries within the past 14 days, must immediately isolate themselves and get tested.

From what I've been reading on the net, scientific stuff etc, it seems that the scientists don't know yet what Omicron is or how it affects vaxxed or unvaxxed individuals, its just a lot of numbers being thrown around and no substance to verify that it is what they say it is, the first 4 cases were reported in Israel on the 21st November, all 4 travelled from Botswana as did 600 others?..all 4 people were fully vaccinated, but it dident state if they were sick, in hospital or otherwise healthy?

From a Wikipedia page.

Follow the money trail. This pfizer deal smells real bad, and the public ain't allowed to see it. Although I think people need to stop finger pointing at just the state premiers, they aren't alone in all of this.

And just to be clear, I have no doubt the vaccine works, and I'd still take it, its just the deal that has been struck that is the smelly part.

More weekend protests against vaccine mandates across the nation

Thousands of protesters have gathered in Melbourne's CBD once again, in another weekend of demonstrations opposing the Victorian government's vaccination policies and proposed pandemic laws.

The group gathered on the steps of parliament, before weaving through the city's streets with anti-government placards and flags.

A heavy police presence was monitoring the demonstrators as they walked through Bourke Street Mall amid chants, whistles and drums.

According to Victoria Police estimates, there were 20,000 at Saturday's protest.

That's probably no surprise. Victoria is currently at around 94% with at least one dose (higher in some age groups) but that leaves ~6% who haven't which, based on the current census data, means some 347k people haven't even had one dose. First doses are still running at ~700/day so that will improve a little but that would still only add an extra 24k by the end of the year.

The 18-29 age group has the lowest figure with 86.4% having had at least one dose, leaving 157k unvaccinated;
The 12-15 age group is at 88.49%, leaving ~35k;
The 30-39 age group is at 93.26%, leaving ~70k;
The 16-17 age group is at 95.47%, leaving ~6.5k;
The 40-49 age group is at 96.16%, leaving ~33k;
The 50-59 age group is at 96.64%, leaving ~5k;
The 70+ age group is at 97.62%, leaving ~18k.

It’s a situation that concerns me greatly. If the government cannot be wholly transparent on a matter that pertains to national health/welfare, I think they are at risk of making further related decisions on a basis other than genuine commitment to that health/welfare.

Data valid as at 00:00 GMT November 27th 2021.

Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting.

1,467 new cases for Australia and 5 deaths so the CMR is 0.963%.

148 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 0.378%.

The UK had 39,567 cases yesterday and 131 deaths for a CMR of 1.431%.

48,126 new cases in the USA yesterday and 428 deaths sees CMR at 1.629%.

Other notable points: (weekend reporting)
Global cases pass 261M, the last 1M in 2 days

Only-
Vietnam (16,067)

.... recorded new highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

No countries moves above the 90th percentile for the 10 day period and Lithuania drops below.

The current fortnight of UK data for cases and elapsed mortalities has finished.

There were 551,147 cases in the period to 13/11 and 2,046 deaths between 14-28/11 for a CMR of 0.371% which is fractionally lower than the previous period which was 0.373%. Case numbers are also down by 120k (17%) over the previous period but it’s still the second highest period since freedom day.

Thus, in the 120 days since 'freedom day' they have totalled 4,005,751 cases and 15,141 deaths for an overall CMR of 0.378% which is slightly below the 0.379% at day 105.

Here it is graphed - note that the base column at the end is the 2 week period prior to freedom day.

To put that into an Australian perspective:
If we had similar CMR and case rates to the UK we'd have about 11.2M cases and 42.5k deaths per annum well above the 900 deaths in a bad flu year like 2019.

(An antivax friend of mine has attended a couple of weekends, she reckons the first weekend was the biggest one.....which contradicts reporters views that "this is the biggest one yet" week after week...)

On a serious note, whilst these protesters want to "kill the bill", which is nonsensical IMHO, if they have at least achieved to pressure MPs to water down some of the powers and improve the governance, then its a win.

Inevitable, what it doesn't say below but does mention in the video (link) is that they are chasing 29 other people from the flight that were allowed to isolate at home.

Two travellers test positive to Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Sydney

https://www.9news.com.au/national/om...19-in-s_281121

Quote:
Two returned travellers have tested positive to the new Omicron variant os after arriving in Sydney overnight.

NSW Health has confirmed two people who flew into Sydney about 7pm on Saturday from southern Africa had since tested positive to COVID-19, which was later found to be caused by the new variant.

Both travellers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and are asymptomatic. They are in isolation in the special health accommodation.

The travellers were among 14 people from southern Africa who arrived on Qatar Airways QR908, Doha to Sydney.

The other 12 passengers are undertaking 14 days of hotel quarantine.

About 260 passengers and air crew on the flight are considered close contacts and have been directed to isolate.

The sudden arrival of the Omicron variant in Australia took many by surprise, particularly due to the new entry restrictions.

"We thought that we would get turned back," one passenger, wearing a mask, told 9News.

"We were on the tarmac and they turned us back to get a health official to tell us whether we could land or not."

Others took health measures into their own hands, with multiple passengers arriving in Sydney wearing their own hazmat suits.

Border restrictions introduced yesterday mean any Australians who have been in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, Malawi, and the Seychelles in the past 14 days must enter hotel quarantine for 14 days, irrespective of their vaccination status.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet today urged people to get a COVID-19 booster shot if they are six months on from their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

It took the Delta strain of COVID-19 just three weeks to reach 53 countries. There is early evidence Omicron could be far more transmissible.

It has already reached the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Hong Kong and Israel.

"It's more transmissible and potentially it can evade some of the vaccines," Jane Halton from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness told Today.

Is that in vaxxed or non vaxxed?
It's mentioned elsewhere in the thread that people with the new strain are "asymptomatic".....what does that really mean?
