Interesting it will be indeed...

Health Hazzard reckons 25,000 a day could be on the cards in NSW alone. Not sure if that is just scare mongering to get the boosters up - $$$$$? Vaccine efficacy is 90%+, but could be as low as 70% according to some reports.

Let's be generous and give it 95% against hospitalisation. 5% x 25,000 = the maths is not looking too good.

Lol Health Hazzard. We have to get over positive case numbers. The only numbers that matter are hospital and deaths. NSW will inform the rest of the country. Even in the ACT we just don't give a **** at the moment

NSW/VIC
NSW records a higher 2,482 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.2192 (from 1.2620) while the actual line remains well above the predictive trend line. That’s also the highest daily case numbers recorded in NSW.

VIC records 1,502 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.0193 (from 1.0306) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

What keeps striking me, is the emphasis on making rules vs encouraging consideration/sense. Dr Khorshid is at it again in the ABC news today, the other day it was Professor McLaws, and Dr McMullen.

Another day of big numbers for NSW, along with heavy testing. Almost twice that of Victoria in each quantity.

My first experience of “drive through” Covid testing (Clinical Labs’ Hunters Hill venue, due to closeness and good reviews); whether it’s the heat, the time of year, location, pandemic fatigue - whatever - candidates included a good quotient of the self-absorbed. I was able to be put down as “urgent” for results, due to upcoming air travel - this may yet trip me up if volume of test material means results are delayed.

But honestly, as I left the testing station a full hour after first joining the queue at 0821H, there was a strong sense of “Is it really worth the hassle?” turning in my head.

NSW/VIC
NSW records a higher 2,566 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.2183 (from 1.2192) while the actual line remains well above the predictive trend line. That’s also another highest daily case number recorded in NSW.

VIC records 1,240 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.0080 (from 1.0193) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

We might have to consider adding South Australia. Last week, they had 39 cases but this week (ending yesterday) they had 221.

Don't forget about Queensland. We had 31 cases today, with the following said and printed in the Courier Mail, it's probably best to be prepared.

Quote:
A silent Covid-19 cluster could be ripping across Queensland, with authorities warning people they could be infected without showing any symptoms.
Quote:
Queensland Chief Health Officer John Gerrard said the virus was spreading rapidly across the state and declared some people may not even know they have it.
All 5.2 million of us will have covid by the end of January the way it's going. Just like Governor Young promised a few months back.

Take that Australia. There's no way Queensland was going to let everyone beat us!!!

Well...there is a sure fire way to reduce the numbers.

Stop testing...win...win......

On another note...don't be dumb...don't queue up like lambs to the slaughter in the drive throughs..

Get the 13 dollar test from the chemist.

If it's positive, isolate, but don't tell the govt about it..only get the PCR test after you test negative on the home test....you have been warned...it will stay on your health record...

Is it too early for any studies to be published re 'long-Covid' with respect to vaccines? Like I know being vaccinated makes me less likely to develop Covid, but if you are vaccinated and yet still contract Covid are you less likely to suffer from long-Covid than an unvaccinated person that contracts Covid?

I know being vaccinated makes me less likely to get long-Covid as I am less likely to get Covid in the first place; I am talking percentage-wise - are there studies with stats that show for eg. 33% of unvaccinated that contract Covid go on to suffer from long-Covid, whereas 15% of vaccinated that contract Covid suffer from long-Covid? Or too soon to know, depends on variants, etc?

I don't really understand why everyone was forced to get the Vax, and show proof of doing so, but only for a limited time.
Pretty frustrating. We got it to continue working and maintain some freedoms, which are now available to all again suddenly, vaxxed or not.
One day there's 100% mask compliance enforced by big tough security guards, and checking your phone for the certificate, next day it's maybe 20% with a mask, and no enforcement of check in or the proof of Vax cert.
Feels like a slap in the face to everyone who followed the rules. But as per usual, the laziest, dumbest, most selfish few in society always end up getting a free ride

It’s our fault, we keep voting for them!

Have just canned meeting one friend this week, they have unvaccinated family and I don’t want to risk passing anything on, should I become Covid-positive between today's test and when I’ll be near them.
