I'm slowly working my way back home to Melbourne, been on the sunshine coast for a week with the weather being ok (22° to 24°) except for the few odd showers, today I drove just over 200k's, and I arrive in Toowoomba, fkme, stepped out of the ranger with T shirt & shorts on and it was like stepping into a freezer.
I guess my warm/hot holidays has come to an end, back to wearing jeans & jumper. There was talk of some parts of QLD might getting snow, I do believe it may happen as I am now sitting in my van with heater on as I type this post. Cheers |

The media would have you believe that anyone who goes outside this week is going to die of hypothermia................................umm, it's called winter for a reason. Pardon the pun, but what a bunch of snowflakes.

Flood watch released for a number of areas in vic for the coming couple of days. Certainly hope some of it comes our way, as we could do with the rain.
Not that the dog, or my daily walk, will appreciate that.

Fresh after a -2 frost and temps yet to breach 5 degrees, we had a tough young buck through the other morning wearing shorts and a tank top. Meanwhile, the sensible among us were wearing long pants, thermal shoes and socks, thermal tops, shirt, jumper, jacket and beanie.

Travelled down to Melbourne and back today to take mum to a medical appointment. Pretty much bucketed down the whole way. Checked the weather app to see home had no rain at all. Latrobe Valley to the west had 5mm. Bairnsdale to the east had 3mm. Thought there must have been something wrong with the official rain gauge. Got home and...nothing. Roads were completely dry So much for the 10 to 20mm....

Returned home to Melbourne from my eight-week holiday and right on cue we received a shower for about 10 minutes, now I feel right at home!

Spent a few days in MelBin from Monday arvo to Wednesday morning (funnily enough for a medical appointment for my dad), they banged about all the rain that was coming, i mean i did rain from about Euroa to MelBin on the Monday, but not much after that. But on the telly they was talking about massive amounts of rainfall, there wasnt much in the city were i was staying. Currently 10.6° here, but they've predicted some wildish weather tonight annd into tommorrow. Meant to be pretty windy also tommorrow according to me Windy App.

Certainly there are still rivers flooded (now minor, but some reached moderate levels) in the eastern part of the state. Latrobe river at Rosedale has burst its banks, but that's a pretty regular occurrence.

What a nasty, evil day it was to be working outside today.
While the temperature managed to top 10 degrees very briefly, the gusty wind was so very icy, made worse by sleety rain.

I was hoping my boat-mad clients would send me a quick video from around the heads, but suspect they were hiding indoors, on land - not letting it all hang out.

I had the nursery looking at its best for weekend trade, all destroyed by the wind. Not that customers were out today, only the very keen brave such a cold windy day.

I’ve just spent the week in halls gap at a clients off grid accomodation to perform various maintenance and painting tasks. It barely reached 10deg each day, everything was perpetually damp. Even inside where I could warm the room up with heating, I still had to use the heat gun to dry paint and silicone sealer near floor level, it was just icy.

We have recently returned from a two week break in Karratha. Clear cloudless skies, daytime max temperatures of 27 oC, night/mornings around 11 oC. We fitted in well, grand parents have taken over. |

-3 forecast here tomoz morning. If it achieves that, it will be the coldest morning this year.
As Itsme says tho, it's the price you pay this time of the year for a sunny day.

Well, the -3°C didn't eventuate. But we did get to -1.8°C that day. The same minimum temp that it reached the day before (30th). And a -1.7° today. Based on the forecast, we'll be 2°C or less through until next Wednesday.
