yeah I will be, I'm just not sure which ones to put on. Plugs are actually ok, they renewed them before I picked it up.

I've been tossing up changing mine for while now, couldn't figure out if going back to an MSD dizzy would be better or not. Does anyone have a rated output for the standard ones compared to a MSD set. Cheers. Edit is this the correct link for summits msd ones? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSD-8241/

also found these demon coil packs at summit
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DUI-31725/ Rated to 45000 volts, they say 'they are too hot for standard leads" , not knowing what sort of leads a 4.6 modular v8 compared to the windsor has doesn't help. the MSD ones are rated to 40000 Volts and after plenty of searching here, the bosch website and everywhere else, I still can't find the voltage output of the stand ford coil packs. :(

msd or demons? 69.95US ea for MSD, so by my rough calculations for 2 - $140US plus $25US for P&H. Convertion about should work out around $190Aus. Or have I missed something? 99US for Demons

bundy >> the postage was more than that.
AUIIPURSUIT >> I'm leaning towards locally made ICE leads.

As far as I am aware you can't actually buy MSD leads 'off the shelf' to suit windsors.
Just scored a T3 cluster fascia too. Got to stop spending on this car!

rocker covers and gaskets to suit the lot. Nomally I look at gear for the mustang in the late 80 and early 90s to suit, thats until the coil pack in this thread which as listed applications for the 4.6 Modular V8 which throw me a bit left of centre. The reason I'm looking at the Demon coil packs is because they are all black and the MSD red ones would need a paint before I put them in my engine bay, hence trying to find out info on voltage ouputs of the stand variety which I may have to call ford about since I still can't find an answer online. Hoads thanks for the info, the last couple times I've been charged $25US. Sorry to hijack your thread b2tf.

Very nice ride, and a good thread, ive already gotten a couple of ideas! If i can get my whole "courrier smashed my Carbon bulge bonnet situation resolved" i will have space to play with and can think about inlet manifold bits and pieces etc.
Not to nit pick but that "Falcon" badge on the tailgate doesn't belong there, it's not meant to be on a XR8 of any sort other than the AU1's. |
