I think it demonstrates that it does not matter what HSV puts out on the road.

You can quite confidently stay with your 5.4 litre Boss power plant, just do the required tweaks....no danger of the Ford power plant not coping.

5.4 lt Boss 290 anybody ?

HSV feeling the heat....would probably have been a more accurate assesment of the current situation, and thus a more apropriate title for this thread.....

Looks as if the G8 has been dumped in the US and Holden will throw the G8 bonnet on the new HSV to get rid of G8 parts.

Will this car have the goods to pass the AU series 1 in the looks dept?

Sorry most HSV's have been nice, classy looking cars but this thing is fugly.

As you say, it's very busy. What have they done with that back end? They trying to scare motorists?

There's a roomer on track chat that these pictures are a photoshop (Ford and EVO came up, I could see the stir in that)

When I first saw these pictures I could see other vehicle looks.

Although LS1.com has the same pictures (which kinda puts weight on they are real) everyone is hoping they aren't as the mix isn't going down well.

HSV usually do quite well with looks? (not this time if real)

Time will tell.

Cheers

Two more photos at the bottom.

http://www.pavle.com.au/53/2010-hsv-e2-series-details/

Still yet to see what the GTS will look like.

The only thing i like so far is the bi-modal exhaust.

Why bother with daytime running lights.

I'll stick to my 09 upgrade GTS.

I am quite surprised, if the pics are real, how messy they look. Very un HSV like. These pics look very American, very bold and in your face. I guess time will tell!

I think your right. The angle of the shots and the blurred background look very similar to the prototype pictures of the holdens when they are going through the design stage.
Well i would hope anyway.

Luckily FPV have said they will stop playing these little couple of kilowatts here and there game and will just move the game forward even further with the blown V8.
Yep, a nice 350kw and 650-700nm of torque from a S/C V8 would do the job nicely. HP sells cars but torque wins races ;)

I have been a Muscle car fan since 71, and I dont know if it is just me...but you can always tell the Holden and Ford apart even when their designs look similiar as they tend too these days.

There was a time ofcourse when you could never mistake an XY for a HG Holden, but these days while the designs are similiar they are still quite distinct.

There is just somthing about the curves of a Ford... that Holden can never get right with their own cars...and it shows.

A Good example of what I am on about is the middish seventies...with the horny coke bottle hipped XB GTS just looking naturaly good out there on the road....in comparison to that HJ or HX sedan sports model that Holden released....with the flashed up paint work to try and make a basicly mundane design look good....because they didnt get their curves just right.

Anybody know what Im on about ?

These new Holdens you can see they have made a big effort to try and get the curves just right....but they failed yet again....perhaps they over did it ?

"GTS and Senator Signature ride height has been dropped 8mm to 112mm, while the Clubsport R8 loses 3mm, going down to 117mm."

So going on the 100mm legal limit, your saying that when you fill all 5 seats in the car it won't drop 12mm?

Letter from MD of HSV... seems to me, he's trying to settle all the negative feedback.

How much has been correct and how much has been way off the mark? Time will tell. Like the rest of the HSV Team, I’m sworn to secrecy!

Today l wanted to confirm for you that HSV has been very committed to the development and ultimate release of this program through what have been unprecedented tough times for the car industry. For our niche car company, we have faced the challenges that everyone in the global industry has had to face .... and we are very pleased with the result, the all new E Series 2.

You`ve probably been wondering what the story is behind that "Area E2" logo you’ve seen. This is the top secret area at Clayton. The area where our best technicians, engineers and designers have been building the car of tomorrow ever since we put down the tools on E Series l way back in 2006.

When we open the doors to Area E2, and the new product rolls off the line, you will see some really exciting product developments. More design point of difference, More options. Not one, but many Australian firsts in local production cars - remember MRC...

More investment than VX, VY and VZ put together! And its only days away now. We would love to be able to tell you about the car right now, however
without stock on its way to dealerships, this is not possible.

Speculation and rumour always occur prior to a HSV launch - this time
we are feeding this speculation. All will be revealed on 09.09.09.

What we can tell you is that those who have seen it in development have been blown away.

This is a remarkable story for 2009 and for the Australian car industry. The countdown has begun. Area E2 will be opened soon .... And the secrets will be revealed.

Yours sincerely,
Phil Harding

yeh i prefer holden bodies, but prefer ford drivetrains. I think people like a car just because what badge it is, but i bet the new ford falcon would have way more rave reviews about how it looks if it had the VE body.

Personaly I thought the BA design was the best since the XB series....
The drive train....well we have already seen video evidence in this thread that the 5.4 litre Boss V8 has become part of the Ford...Legend.

725 hp under supercharging besting a 7 Litre super charged Dodge with the Dodge Power plant not coping under the conditions

Woa ! typical Ford Legend stuff....from the designers of the V8 Engine... The Ford Motor Company.

5.4 litre Boss V8....Legend !

Default Video: HSV E Series 2 teaser with Garth Tander

This is probably the most pathetic promotional video ever. Don't watch it.

Let’s just hope the poor production quality is an indication that every dime has been put into the development of the new generation HSV models.
