Mat - Pretty much started in the Airforce many years ago and the training is provided by the Airforce. I work as a contractor these days. An armourer in the Airforce is pretty much all about bombs, missiles, aircraft guns and ejection systems. You can also branch out into demolition too and these guys are known as EOD Techs.

Really interesting and rewarding field. I love working with switched on people and being involved in exciting research that makes a difference to how we do things. Job: Architechtural Draftsman
Location: Mt Gravatt, QLD Like: By big comfy Executives chair, working my own hrs I choose, like drafting in general. I get bored for after a few weeks of not going in. Dislike:The workflow is unpredictable. Some weeks are steady, full on or no work to go in for. Pain in the **** foriegn clients that take 5 massive options. Which we have to butcher up for the next 20 Variation orders anyway. So some work is redundant before you start. But have to draw the "catalogue option" as a base to perform the butchering VO's. Next Job (If any): None. As in retirement. Dream Job: V8SC driver (yeah right!), Lego worker, retirement. How long in industry: 6+ years Job: Servo Console Operator Location: Hattonvale, QLD Like: Working with some good team members. Meeting interesting people. Meeting my one & Only girlfriend in my life. Dislike: Working with some lazy staff members. Sometimes not enough sleep between graveyards. Difficult customers that think I determine the price of petrol. Drive offs. People thinking that I HAVE to give them cash out if they ask & think some of what I have in the drawer "Will be enough". People who think they are experts in this line of work even though they havent spent an hour on my side of the counter. People thinking if its not in the Shelf/Fridge/Cabinet then its "out the back". Like there is big mystical wherehouse behind the console wall that carries everything thats not "on the floor". How long in industry: 9+ Years Job: Woolies Nightfiller Location: Brassall, QLD Like: Working with some good team members. Straightforward job. Open the box put it on the shelf, next box. Its only 3 mins to my front door. Staff Discount at not just woolies, but woolies fuel. No matter the fuel (even LPG), BWS, Big W, Dicksmith, the list goes on..... Dislike: Taxed like a Mofo at this one. Not enough hours. Not from a moneytary standpoint but a practice one I am slow at the job as I am only called in when needed. Resulting in slower stocking time than my fellow staff members. Less than 20 shifts in 4 months. Also people thinking if its not in the Shelf/Fridge/Cabinet then its "out the back". Like there is big mystical wherehouse in the loading dock that carries everything thats not "on the floor". How long in industry: 4 months
