Hi Guys and gals,

I am the owner of the Deep Ivy Green Landau that Geepee was referring to in some prior postss. A bit of background the car is currently in need of a full restoration. I have most parts so hopefully things go smoothly during the resto (famous last words). The plan for the car is to get it back to factory spec including hubcaps. The only "factory" item that will be missing is the vinyl roof. We plan on completing the car for next year's or most likely 2011 All Ford Day at the Creek.
I don't know a lot of history on the car. It was purchased from a dealer in the southwest of Sydney so not sure if it was the one seen in Hornsby. It currently has a "magnum" style rim so this would another way of identifying it. I am the third owner.
So if I post a message with some people might think is a "silly" question, please don't hold it against me cause I do come from the Red side!!!!!!! I realise there aren't many Landau's left so we will try and bring her back to the best condition possible.
Cheers,
Phillip

Hi Phillip,
Another Deep Ivy Landau. Mine is also that colour and waiting for a full resto.
Does your Landau still have the vinyl roof on and if so what colour is it?
Any chance you could post up some pics. I'd love to see it.

Hi Muzz,

No vinyl roof as it was apparently deleted by the dealer when new. Here are some photos of her. The panel work should be done in the next few months.
Hi FatassLandau, thanks for the offer I will contacting you at some point cause as I said, into another brand of cars (better not mention what type!)[IMG][/IMG]

Looks like a great project in good nic!

How do you know that the vinyl was deleted by the dealer and not during its life?

Auslandau as you know nothing is for certain on a 35yr old car. The second owner was told this from the original owner. He got it removed immediately together with the installation of those magnum rims by the dealer. Could explain the lack of rust and repairs around front and rear screens I suppose.
Cheers,
Phillip

G'day
is the car still track red? That would be a very rare colour. It was introduced with the XW around the time of the phase two and was used through XY and xa era cars. This may have been a bob stillwell special order colour on the car.
Cheers Greg

By the way you can tell if a landau was a genuine 4v motor ie 4v heads. Check the block if its Geelong foundry it would've been 2v. All 4v bigports were imported engines, they will have a cleveland foundry stamp.

The car is original matching numbers and is unmolested. It has been off the road for about 9 years but a bit of nagging from my mates has helped me decide to get it out clean it up and get her out on the weekend.

Great to see some Landau's getting the resto treatment for a change. A few years back my dad wreaked a couple and sold most of the parts. All this I kept was some of the "pop-up" headlight stuff such as vacum tanks and a cover. (if this helps anyone).

If anyone is keen to buy contact me and I will send pics :-)

WHo retrimmed his interior?

Did he do it in leather or parachute/pantyhose material? How much did he pay? I am shopping around for trimmers
