Check it in a day or two to allow time who ever gave your booster shot to submit the recordings to Medicare then it will be on your records as per law.

In a small Israeli study of 1,928 health care workers of whom 1,650 received a booster shot, 44 subsequently tested positive for Omicron, only 5 of which were amongst those who received the booster. That's an incident rate of 12.8 for boosted against 116 per 100k person/days for un-boosted.

A longer term Israeli study of long-COVID patients which included 951 long-COVID patients and 2,437 infected individuals without long-COVID symptoms as a control group.

Key findings:

637 (67%) of the long-COVID patients were vaccinated.

The most commonly reported symptoms were; fatigue (22%), headache (20%), weakness (13%), and persistent muscle pain (10%).

Those who received two vaccine doses were less likely than unvaccinated individuals to report any of these symptoms by 64%, 54%, 57%, and 68% respectively (risk ratios 0.36, 0.46, 0.43 & 0.32 in the listed sequence).

They concluded that vaccination with at least two doses of COVID-19 vaccine was associated with a substantial decrease in reporting the most common post-acute COVID-19 symptoms and, in addition to reducing the risk of acute illness, COVID-19 vaccination may have a protective effect against long COVID.

It's worth knowing as the incidence of long-COVID (up to 6 months) in the unvaccinated ranges from ~50% at age 40 through to ~65% at age 65.

If a person that old can fly a plane solo and drive a car in some places, which isn't far off the legal driving age in Australia anyways, it isn't that far fetched an idea.

Having spent the majority of my working life in transport and logistics it would be hard to see how they can be any worse than the "mature" employees.

Its real. Not satire. We were discussing this at work today, as our warehouse requires forklift drivers, and a couple of colleagues have kids within the age group . It was proposed that the age be drop to 16. But its been quashed as national cabinet.

I'm sure a lot of 16 year olds could do the job sensibly. Just like a lot of 12 year olds could probably drive a car, learning on the farms, but still deemed too dangerous on our roads.

I see plenty of adult halfwits drive forklifts so do not see an issue with a 16 year old being trained and licenced if state governments allow it.
What's your answer to the shortage? bring in more immigrants to fill the gap.

And then you have those pesky Kostecki boys who irresponsibly learnt to race 500kw Supercars @ 290 kph down Conrod from the age of 15 and 16.

I was driving headers, 2wd/4wd tractors, trucks & utes etc around the farm at 14 or 15 years old, this was not unusual throughout the farming industry back then and I'm sure not much has changed....

If you grew up on a farm, and when you could reach the peddles and levers, you were old enough....

But i digress, this has f-all to do with Covid 19

Interesting....its been coming from multiple suppliers. So possibly they got together to come up with the same response? One of our clients was affected, and someone I spoke to there, semi high up, said "they had heard something to that effect" internally in reference to their orders.

SA gov has also accused NSW and Vic gov of taking their shipments lol. ACCC has been asked to look into that also.

Very hard to say what is fact or fiction since I had an email from one company I purchased from stating their supply of Rat kits (saliva type) were diverted by the feds but the company still insisted delivery arrival dates should not be effected as they were sourcing more stock.

NSW records 25,168 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 1.0256 (from 1.0715) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend line.

VIC records 18,167 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 0.9365 (from 0.9630) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

No States set new daily highs yesterday (19/1).

Here is the predictive trend graph for three States based on cases since Omicron was identified which, for our purposes, will be taken as December 1st. Note that Queensland numbers are a day behind the other two States.

Here's hoping that the downward trend is genuine because part of me is thinking is it could be people just can't be ****ed getting tested these days

If we can overlay testing numbers vs cases it might clear that up a bit.

If we can overlay testing numbers vs cases it might clear that up a bit.
Dident Russell or another member do that earlier in the thread?
The overlay I mean.

Nationally, test numbers are about 80k/day down on the late December peak but DIY RAT tests are probably more than making up the gap so I think case numbers are starting to fall although hospitalisation numbers are still high.

Australia
NSW records 20,148 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 0.9713 (from 1.0256) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend line.

VIC records 16,016 cases in the current period and the 10-day average growth rate decreases to 0.9191 (from 0.9365) while the actual line remains below the predictive trend.

No States set new daily highs yesterday (19/1).
Here is the predictive trend graph for three States based on cases since Omicron was identified which, for our purposes, will be taken as December 1st. Note that Queensland numbers are a day behind the other two States.

Well two FIFO workers here in WA tested positive at Perth airport on Thursday, it was pick up using Rapid Antigen Testing, they were on the way to the Pilbara, lucky they dident get there, Perth has a 140 reported exposure sites, and the South West has 30 sites!

CHO Andy Robertson is of the opinion the autumn is the best time to reopen our border, he said the added protection of booster shots would start to wane from the end of March!
He said the elderly and healthcare workers who were the first to get booster shot would be affected first.

THE WEST AUSTRALIAN.
