The truck driver was reported as having a medical episode however it is unclear whether that was before or after the collision.

I believe the evidence was one of two phones he was carrying, he surrended one to Police that had been wiped to factory settings.

Porsche douche had weed and meth in his system. What a clown.
Police still can’t interview the truck driver, but expect to within days. |

10 news just said one of the phones he handed over to police was a brand new phone. Not the one they wanted. So he’s ditched that phone and bought a new one that’s clean.

let's put it a slightly different way. Car breaks down on hard shoulder and RACV are in attendance. Same thing happens. Would you blame the driver of the broken down car?
Mr Porsche may be a scumbag lowlife, but I can't see how you can blame him for these deaths. |

I'm obviously devastated for the Officers and family and friends. Simply horrible and words csn't explain.
The truck driver I'm reserving judgement until more is known. Seems bad but I'm prepared to wait on thoughts. The Porsche driver though can go and get *ed and I hope the law hammers him as high as possible. What a deadset moron and pathetic human being. |

Drugs and an ice pipe were allegedly found inside the cabin of a truck involved in a fatal crash on a Melbourne freeway, police have revealed.
Police commissioner Graham Ashton has revealed Mohinder Singh Bajwa is facing questioning by homicide detectives. He has been at the Royal Melbourne Hospital since the accident on Wednesday night which left four police officers dead. https://7news.com.au/news/vic/easter...ruck--c-997831 Unreal But really we knew it was most likely, short of passing out due a medical issue how else do you cross 3 lanes of traffic at 100km/h Investigators allegedly found cannabis, methylamphetamine and an ice pipe inside the truck’s cabin after the accident. |

Looks like ol' Mohinder loves a cheeky glass BBQ before getting behind the wheel.
Does that really surprise anyone? I did my apprenticeship with a few shard junkies, my manager and a couple of the others loved a cheeky glass BBQ in the toilets, without the gear they were useless. |

That said the odds of this being because of 40km/h rule were next to zero, an aware truck driver would spot the flashing lights miles off. negligence was always the front runner. Mohinder Singh Bajwa was allegedly overheard to say: ‘’I was looking down in the cabin and I looked up and they were just there.’’ He then blacked out. |

So we have a drugo feral causing trouble in his car, a drugo driving a truck and some innocent victims caught in the middle. Yep just another day in this disgusting world we call earth.

Some pretty shocking stories getting around on social media at the moment about the truckies actions which would lead to murder charges.
I know if it’s on Facebook then it must be true, but I hope it’s not

wont be murder.... manslaughter is a possibility, but murder is intent & there was no intent to kill. truck driver if innuendo is true & was on the gear... is facing serious gaol time. …. as for pusey.. well... there's no denying him filming a dying mother of 2 begging for help & all he could do was abuse her for wrecking his car...…

Police told other police, who told former police and family and friends, that an apparently identical truck had been pulled over on the same freeway a little earlier that evening, further east. Allegedly, the driver of that truck had angrily abused police when issued with two on-the-spot infringement notices for driving offences. Allegedly, that truck driver was known to police because of an association with groups that come under police notice from time to time. So while the initial focus was on the driver of the black Porsche pulled over for allegedly driving at excessive speeds, the main thrust of the investigation from the start was on the truck driver. It was significant that the truck driver, Singh Bajwa, was placed under police guard in hospital. |

If the truckdriver tested positive to drug usage he is in very deep poo, which would result in charges of culpable driving x4 .Thank you to Russellw post 141 for clarifying the different charges, and reason for them.If the driver tested negative, the rumours about the stuff in the truck is really irrelevent!possession isn’t a serious crime.

One must wonder how the legislation has allowed the creation of a situation now demonstrated to be so dangerous. I doubt the policy makers risk assessed the situation enough for both;
There really isn't enough justification to impound a vehicle on the road side, why not ask the vehicle owner to surrender the vehicle such as what is required in rural WA where roadside vehicle impounding isn't practical. As for Pusey allegedly being charged for destruction of evidence, that's a joke, they're his phones, he can do what he wants with them. I bet there's a lot of soul searching and internal reviews going on within VicPol as to how the deaths of the 4 officers could have been prevented and who's responsible for this occurring. It's not the truck driver or the Porsche driver who created this dangerous work environment.

You make a good point, I wonder if there's a case under OHS legislation here because the police were involved, the side of the Eastern Freeway is their 'workplace'. |
