Post ten positive Trump articles or opinion pieces from the likes of CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, NYT etc from the last five years.

It is because ther is no electoral authority like here. The result is only official when the delegate passes on thats states electoral college votes. In some states they can even not follow what the voters voted for. although that rarely happens. So since there is no one to call it, the media have become the unofficial determiner.

From the New York Times:

Quote:
What Joe Biden Can Do as President

Soon, the worst president in modern American history will resume private life. Everyone who favors the rule of law, decency and truth is exhaling a long-deferred sigh of relief. Millions are upset that the election was as close as it was. Still, however narrowly, Americans have snatched our republic from the jaws of an encroaching autocracy.......
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/elect...?ocid=msedgntp

It's a bloody mad house there...

So let me get this straight. It's not official??

Worst president in modern American history? Really?

He makes enough money already, and didn't draw a wage for being president. Why bloody bother??

It has kept the media and social networks occupied for a number of years. That’s sort of like doing your mates a favour.

When Trump won in 2016 with 304 college votes he called it a landslide.

Because California hasn't finished counting yet some are speculating Joe's lead could be as much as 7 million votes. Landslide?

Look up verified Trump lies. If any Australian politician were as dishonest as Trump the media would rip into them as well.

Be intetesting to see how the new president will affect us.

The Trump initiated trade war has cost Austrlia billions and jobs. Scomo has followed. Now we are also in recession due to Covid. Presumably Biden will scale back on China, wonder where we will stand?

Trump wanting to take the result straight to the Supreme Court - I wonder if Trump has any mates at the US Supreme Court? Associate Justices that he appointed in?

If it doesn't make it to the Supreme Court, has he got any mates at the Courts Of Appeals? Judges that he appointed?

I think the right thing has happened for America . They need someone who will act with a fair bit of decorum and respect . That was sadly lacking for the current President .

Trump did have some good economic policy success and such but he also alienated a lot of people enough to want to vote him out in record numbers .

He also said some stupid things and dismissed people who showed they disagreed with his opinions..Was my way or the highway I'm afraid ,

For me though , lack of proper Covid 19 action apart , the day he made a fuss about dealing with North Korea Kim Jeong Un or whatever the dictator's name is was pretty disgraceful . Utter condemnation for the man that has persecuted his own people to a pulp not shaking hands and exchanging platitudes would have shown Trump a lot better..

Hopefully a settling Joe Biden whatever you think of him will at least set the USA up as a more tolerant and less divided country again .....somehow .

A lot being made of the media calling the election. They always call the election based on projections It's never official until they are certified.

The counts would have to be way out for any recount to have any effect or they will need to have a huge amounts of votes tossed out.

There is no way in hell that the US Supreme Court will be quick to do that.

OK, let’s make it simpler, you don’t wait 4 days to confirm who wins when it is a landslide. A number of states behind decided by less than 2 percent, go the other way and Trump would have won. No matter how much you want to say landslide, this was a cliffhanger due to how the votes result in electoral votes being counted. Trump did not win by a landslide in 2016 either. But he did win more comfortably than Biden has regardless of the popular vote result. You have to understand the popular vote is irrelevant in their presidential system.

And just so you know, I wanted Trump out, so it is not a red or blue thing, just a balance view with no TDS.

Talk bout sore losers
Fox News is a bit of a strange duck. They have some quite good journalists and analysts there... then they have Hannity etc.

I've been watching Fox though the election count and it's kind of funny watching the Trump team blasting them for analysing states are being won when Trump was wanting to contest them.

I saw Insiders this morning and they had Krudd and Malcom on there. The topic of media partisanship was covered and Malcom had some reasonable views on it.. giving the examples of Sky/Fox vs Guardian. Make of it what you will but I tend to agree with his opinions on the matter.

The relationship between Fox/Trump going forward will be interesting.

Let me ask you - can you find 10 articles where Trump is telling the truth and the media is lying?

Journalists in the most part are products of the tertiary education system and so are left leaning, at least until they get some life experience, hit 45 and many head towards the middle from there. The media is generally owned by older rightish types, so that is why you find rightish editorial but leftish general reporting. All in my humble opinion of course.

An estimated $3 trillion worth of rare earths in those NK mountains, why wouldn't you want to make friends?

One credit to Trump is that he was not a warmonger (with the exception of the Iran general killing, not sure WTF happened there). Yeh, he said a lot of inflammatory things, and he had plenty of chances to start war, but he didn't. He actually scaled a lot of it back from what was reported. Influencing other countries by force wasn't high on his agenda, unlike some previous presidents. To me that was one positive.
