Basically when a failed part comes back to HP/Compaq, it gets the "treatment".
Consisting of a bit of testing, some compressed air, and a shot of "Magic Spray" which is supposed to be some sort of electrical component cleaner.

I think its a mixture of medicinal alcohol and WD40, but what do I know.

The parts that dont catch fire immediately then get tested again, somehow pass, then get reboxed and shipped out to local offices and hard working engineers like Gunns as reconditioned replacement parts. They are then used in failed systems, where they usually dont work(GASP!), and get shipped back to the factory as DOA. Where it starts the process again and either fails or gets shipped back out.

Essentially the same process is used by other large companies, but we have "Magic Spray"... take that IBM.

i work for the enemy....
i'm a spotwelder/production worker at the Holden factory in Elizabeth SA.
relatively easy work. I like the job, and they pay us damn well for what we do.

the downside is working with a lot of idiots.... being a kiwi and a ford fan, working in a holden factory.... i dont think there is a sheep joke or a ford joke that i havent heard.

and no, thats not an invitation.

Agree with the BOYCOTT BALI above

Also, I put down automotive industry, but don't really think that Japanese to English translator fits into a neat category
