hello all on the above lists there are some thing's that i am not sure about

1. the ford sync thats in the thai built models, apart from reading text messages for you what else does it do that the system in the german built cars as my titanium connects to my i phone via blutooth and can stream music and make calls that way and if connected via usb then i have full functionality of the music menu.

2. tinted windows, my german built titanium has mildly tinted windows that appear no lighter than the thai built titanium that is in my local dealer

3. i have noted in specs that all thai built focus have active shutter grille but the one at my dealer that is petrol seems to be missing them.

4. day time led light were only part of the sports executive pack that included bi xenon headlights and sunroof i do not know if they are still in the thai option pack as they are not mentioned but the light looks the same shape.

5. auto fold mirrors, i do not know about lower models but in the german titanium when you lock the car the mirrors fold in.

and other things i have not seen mentioned are the side skirts are a different shape and so is the large rear wing on the sports and titanium which has sort of a little fence on the outside edge instead of just rolling over the edge of the roof to the side of the hatch and on the inside the thai titanium has a leather handbrake lever and the german car does not and there are new colours to the plastic trim in the centre stack around the airvents and gearlever area and also the front door highlights

any way the above is my observations comparing my march 12 build titanium to a thai build in my local dealer

Neither requires gear and signal change simultaneously.
In a perfect world maybe and simultaneous gear & indicator changes aren't that unheard of.

But it's not so much about the sequence, it's a case of having the hand/s on or close to the most number of driving controls at any given time or in an emergency.

Bump
Anyone actually seen one (MKII) in person? Are the new skirts and front and rear valance smooth to touch or are they painted versions of the current textured ones?

They are pretty smooth.

However the dash (where the soft material meets the hard material) near the windscreen is really mismatched compared to the german ones.

looks really cheap.

Do yourself a favour those buying Thai built Foci - don't damage the new smooth body coloured front extension, side rockers and rear valance. Ford don't seem to realise they are different from the textured POS ones on the German builds. Here are the part numbers of the MKI and for some reason also the MKII BM51 - A10154AL A10155AL and 17A894.
I ordered them through spares - specifically - stating that I wanted the new MKII parts, I got the ones above.

end rant

Dont suppose anyone knows if its possible to replace the MyFord Sony System found in the 2011 Focus Sports / Titanium with the new Ford Sync system.

My biggest annoyance at the moment is being unable to quickly skip to artists using the alphabetical buttons, having the system read text messages would be nice too.

The german built ST now also features the indicator stalk on the right hand side.

Just after I had adapted to the german built titanium with the indicator stalk on the left side.

Boo, should stay on the left to be honest.

My Focus has it on the left, my Fiesta has it on the left...

Now that the Thai built Focus has been out around 12 months, how does its build quality etc compare to the previous German built cars?

Hi all
I have been very happy with the performance of my lw mk3 sport manual 19899km since dec 14. The only issue i have had was with the hatch switch/ sensor, when the air temp was above about 32c it would chime to indicate the hatch was open when in fact it was closed. It will be replaced at my 15 k service ( just a little late for the service)

Of course you meant indicate then brake .....

No point indicating after you already have hit brakes
