If you could see the force that the Brisbane River has behind it at the moment you would be a total idiot to enter the water, let alone the health factors. We have counted 38 plontoons so far that have broken loose, 6 boats and a couple of jetski.
Our street has become the high ground for many with trucks, caravans and trailors everywhere, even a horse float, drift car and a bloody nice near complete F350.The boat outside could come in handy!

Do what they are doing further north, charge them with being a public nuisance or something. They are putting other people at risk if they need to be rescued.

Yes anyone who has to go into the water to get to their properties please make sure you clean your body after going through it... Keep all open wounds etc covered and wash in detol!!

The other issue we have is electricity... anyone who lives in a house which has gone under water, even under the floor boards, please get an electrician to test all switches and wiring, same with electrical devices.. get them tested and taged after the floods if you think they possibly got wet.

Campbell has said Brisbane water is fine, but people need to be careful what they use at this stage.... No issues here, but ofcourse things can change.. Its not hard to boil water if people are concerned.

On news some sewage plants upstream have overflowed.... means E-coli likely to be in the water and heading downstream in the river. Does not necessarily mean drinking water has as yet been contaminated.

But why risk it ?? Right now, would be prudent to doubt ANYTHING is working properly - and will continue to do so.

Mt Crosby plant has problems.Water from the desal plant and Hinze dam from the Gold Coast is being pumped up to Brisbane.Gee maybe Capt Bligh did do some good.
Flood peak revised down to 5.2m from the 5.5m earlier predicted. With the Bremer peaking a metre lower than predicted our level may not reach the new peak either.Fingers crossed. The river level doesn't seem to of changed in the last few hours, actually looks like it has dropped a couple of inches here, but the tide is on the way out.Time will tell.

Have room for cars (about 2 cars on the footpath) and people inside, a queen bed, a futon and a lounge, with plenty of floor space in North Ipswich. PM if you need a place to stay.

Brisbane 'floods' are a pee in a puddle

The EMS were over precautions and after Toowoomba they were justified.

Mother Nature took one for the team today/last night by reduce the infill into the dam. ii rc QWS cut the release by 2/3rds and reduced the levels in the Brisbane River significantly.

My heart goes out to the Granite belt, Toowoomba and Rocky over a few that had river views along the CBD getting wet feet :(

May all that lost more than a few bucks be consoled that some feel your loss deeply

Almost feels like we're on the way out of this one if the peak tomorrow isn't too bad.

Fingers crossed eh?

I've done the same and ran out of rep points. Not much I can do from over here in the West, but our family has donated to the appeal. All the best to the forum members in the path of the floods and its great to see other forum members in the area offering accommodation, food clothing etc.

I am only up the road from you Scott,,I too knocked the top off the grass today and had a BBQ diner outside...

touch wood we can stay lean on the rainfall and let the dam overflow do its thing and be flushed out into the bay without widespread flooding and loss of life
