BOSS 290 is was a gutless dog in standard form, traction was not an issue, lack of torque was the issue. Nothing special about a stock 5.4 BOSS. Nothing emotive about it, it handles like a pig and goes like a pig. |

I think aussies just think of the mustang as a big muscle car because thats all we know from tv shows and hollywood block busters. We just didnt realise its always come with a non muscle car motor option. Same as the falcon we have the muscle gt's and xr8's the halo cars we all love and then the base model family car.
I wouldn't have a 4cld one either, i would rather a "slower" old v8 falcon any day of the week over a 4cld mustang but its not about me. The sales figures will show if the 4cld is a good idea the only thing i was worried about was the 4cld becoming a sort of "hairdresser's" car and watering down the mustangs appeal.

The Boss 290 most powerful ford available a few years ago also pulls flat 14s For what each car is, one is punching above it's weight and one is not ....the budget version now performs as good as the performance version of a few years ago. Cars have come a long way |

If the mustang was 1100kg again (like the '65 base model) it would be a proper sports car & cylinders wouldn't matter...
