What is the go forward plan?
Australian's have been remarkably good at compliance with lockdown and social distancing orders. But there will soon come a time when huge numbers of people say enough is enough and social disorder will commence. The virus characteristics and risks associated with C19 are much better understood and the projected deaths have not materialised. Without an effective vaccine, there is 0% of C19 ever being fully eradicated from the population Our health facilities have been boosted immensely with both public and private ICU hospital beds available to fight C19. We have allocated at least $200B towards C19 and have recorded approx 75 deaths, ROI $2.6B per dead person. Most of the deaths are with old people or people with pre-existing respiratory conditions. Maybe it is time to tell people to "live with C19" whilst putting in place measures to protect the most vulnerable. |

To be fair the modelling was the worse case scenario. And we did a lot to at least slow it.
So it is rather poor for the shock jocks to say it is a massive beat up. We were prepared and so far we are doing well. That is a win as far as I'm concerned. Let's face it these dinosaur ****s that are complaining won't be paying for what we do anyway for the rest of their lives. They will be long gone. |

A friend yesterday had a mild breakdown directly as a result of the current policies, they have lost half their employment, the other employer (a big retailer) is playing whoopsies with the wages and they’re - for the first time ever, in their sixties - behind on rent. The combination of unexpected debt and lack of socialisation to support, has really impacted. I’m sure this is just one in thousands of similar stories. |

Most days I was beaten with a horsewhip and on most days I had bleeding welts all over my body as big as adult fingers, along with bashings with wooden sticks and everything else in between. So when I see people who think it is fine to hit kids I get a bit pizzed, and yes that even applies to little taps people call fine. The amount of damage you can do to a child's soul is immense, and often when people smack children it says more about that persons own frustrations and or ability to control their own actions over and above teaching children right from wrong. Not here preaching what others should do that's your choice, but after raising 2 beautiful girls without one smack all I can say is it is not needed, but I also do not bother trying to change peoples minds who think they are right because it is a waste of my time. End Rant, _ and yes back on topic. |

Actually according to the US Presser this morning they have ongoing military studies on the virus and Sun, UV and Humidity have all been identified to have a substantial roll the half life of the virus, there testing is ongoing and isn’t implying the virus will simply die out from warm weather but it is a possible contributor to our level of success.

Back on topic.
It's really hard to know what the future world will look like but based on the fact that the infection rates are still not slowing down in some countries I would at the very least expect the following short to mid term measures to apply here and in NZ: 1. A relaxation of the restrictions to a Level 2 equivalence at some point in the not too distant future but with perhaps a retention of Level 3 for some higher risk persons. How long that stays in place for will entirely on the new infection rates because if they creep up again, the restrictions may well be back at higher levels again. 2. A continued restriction on International travel, particularly inbound, which I expect to be off the table for quite a lengthy period or until there is at least one of (i) a 95th percentile treatment; (ii) a 90th percentile efficacious vaccine; (iii) a simple, quick and 100% reliable test; or (iv) evidence of no new cases in the country of origin for x amount of time. 3. Many organisations have made significant changes to the way in which they operate and some of those changes will stay as a permanent fixture even once the worst of this is over. That won't be anything like the full extent of it but that's my crystal ball for now.

There was an expert on one show a week or two ago but it all blurs for me which one that said that UV sunlight usually restricts surface contamination of most viruses and why he was a bit mystified by the fuss of people just sitting on park benches and quiet beaches/locations . He was an Aussie bloke .
Did anybody see that ?. Come to think about it , it might have been on Sixty Minutes . |

Still has nothing to do with people suggesting that the virus dies over 26 degrees, which is complete rubbish, cause UV radiation levels can be low even when the temps are fairly high ie it's the UV radiation levels that help kill it, not temperature. And yes I know there is a link between the two, but as I said just because the temp is high might not necessarily mean the UV radiation levels will be. Heavy cloud cover etc. |

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...t-or-sunlight/ UV Sunlight, high ambient temperature and humidity highly effective. Throw in alcoholic-disinfectant rub too. Darwin NT is clearly the answer! Moving to Venus and or Mercury will rapidly kill the virus too. |

Reality is this came on pretty quick. Governments reacted as best they could. Some were more successful than others, it is yet to be seen whether success maps to action plan or other factors like culture, genetics, population density, watery borders etc. Personally I think we were more lucky than anything. I am shocked at how many people here in brizvegas are out and about though. It's a bit quieter than normal, but not by much. |

Victoria has 73 active cases of people with the virus.
17 days of restrictions left till they "might" relax the stage 3 restrictions |

The perplexing point about Sweden's numbers is they have very few recoveries, not sure if that is a reporting problem but if its not their CMR could really get extreme
16.7k cases, 2020 deaths, 550 recovered |

Sweden... 10.6m people, poor level of testing and 2,000 deaths from only 16,000 detected. How's that going to work out for them? When the toll finally becomes too heavy then they'll have to resort to our model.

Is anyone aware if Australia is currently conducting any of the blind antibody tests?
Very interesting results from both the East and West Coast of the USA, with infections possibly having started a lot earlier than initially thought. |
