If it was the SAME car, I possibly would. But a GT badge might sway me just that little bit more because, to me, means more than XR8 as would it be vice versa for others. But I think he was referring to the fact that the XR8 is to be 335 and if a GT came out at 351, that would be the one to buy over a Mustang

You would be fooling yourself if badge snobbery is not a alive and flourishing. Merc, BMW, Audi and every other car manufacturer live of it. Get a good name, sells itself. Most buy by brand alone. Corolla sells so many because? The Tiida failed. The Pulsar returned.

Just look at some of the names in previous years that just by mentioning means so much to many.

Brands sell and good ones sell better.

Can just imagine Porsche saying, no more 911. Ford saying no more Mustang or F150. The story why GT500 was called that? Because it sounded fast and would sell better than a lower number. That is all.

Some guys, lol, I've got an xr but the xr8 isn't worth a look unless it was an AUII.. but I had a TE50, just under the TS50 but it was just a badge.

Correct freestyler, the xr8 badge doesn't rate imo compared to GT badge.

Lol why are people comparing the GT to the XR8....whats more important is that IMO Ford made a mistake dropping the XR8 in the first place. The GS never really worked and all it did was dilute FPV. Matters little now perhaps.
