First world problem I know but why is there a majority of black pascals in every pack now ?

Secondly why have they increased the price on the same size pack from $2.50 to 4.80- $5.00. !

Clearly, the black ones cost more to produce. I guess the cost of aniseed is higher than strawberries or oranges.

I’ve no idea. It was the random inanity of that solitary post, which so appealed. Very much in line with nonsense from The Goons / Spike Milligan.

My "why is it that?" for the day is why is it that people seem tot hink its perfectly acceptable to try and bargain you down for BS reasons?

IE:
Marketplace, stihl whipper snipper advertised for $100 with a new carby & filters, full of fuel & trimmer line "Mate, will you take $80? I only need it for a couple of weeks until my new one turns op?

2 year old Honda lawnmower, less than 20 hours use and in fantastic condition for $500.
"Will you take $400? I can get a new one for $739?"
The $739 Honda is a lower spec model..... this one new is $949
"yeah, but the $739 one is all I need."

Read the answers I got given.

1st example he's expecting me to give him a discount just because he's impatient.

2nd is the same as buyer expecting a steep discount on a Fairmont Ghia but saying he'd rather pay the little extra for a pov pack XT falcon because thats all he needs..... well **** off and buy the XT then!

I get this mentality all day long.

"....................I spotted XYZ plant at Bunning's for $10 cheaper than you................" or "............I've seen someone else selling that for $10 not $40............"

My response these days is ".........well why didn't you buy it then............." or ".........at that price, why are you here?........"

Response is almost always "...........oh, its not quite the variety I want........" or "........oh, it wasn't very good quality......"

So, not the same product offered by Bunning's or the "someone else" then? People seem to be getting stupider and stupider.

Yeah people want to haggle all the time with small business - I bet that person wouldnt dare ask bunnings to drop their prices….

guy from Bunnings walked in the other day, wanting to know if we could do better on the price. Can i walk up to the Bunnings checkout person and ask them to discount ****? Can you drop the price on this bit of timber??

How about at Woolies - who do I ask to haggle on pricing?

In the trade section of Bunnings, it seems some staff have a bit of latitude with lightly damaged items. Sleepers with one edge smashed or crushed being an example which comes to mind.

A family friend used to own a home appliance business. She always told us how people would come in to the store to purchase a product, and would always ask if the store could do a better price for them. Not just for the larger items such as fridges, tvs and washing machines, but also things like toasters, kettles and popcorn machines.

So these people would haggle on a $30 item at an appliance store, but would more than likely not even at an eyelid at paying more than that for an item at target or kmart for eg,

It seems to be a mentality thing that for some products or for some services, you haggle on price, but at others you don't.

I wonder if anyone has ever haggled at a maccas or a kfc? Wonder how that went for them?

This reminds me of staying in some Caravan Parks while working in $ydney. Lane Cove run by the National Parks and Wildlife Service was always the difficult one.
They would give me the high season, low season, holiday season rates, leaves on the track rate. Telling me how privileged I am to be staying with them.

One day NPWS wanted me to do a quote for them regarding an entranceway wall down in their park.
I gave them 4 different quotes itemised based on what time of the year it was.
Their headquarters were not amused.
