Two decent “spots” yesterday.
A red non-Calais VL sedan near Baulkham Hills, by the way its trim fitted I think an original in great condition - not a restoration. Personalised plates, bonus points for not being a poxy survivor on club rego. In the back blocks of Castle Hill’s industrial area, an XP hardtop with the front end on a dolly. |

Damn marvellous seeing them thats for sure, the coupes AU and XY ? yer the yanky modern day vette, nothing like of the early era ones but not a bad modern day version. Seen them heaps when over there, massive bang for buck compared to euros.

My X-Trail started to run a little rough, especially on cold starts. Even when filling with 98 at non BP (independent) stations. A tank full of BP 98 fixed it. Won't look back. |

Parked near a previously seen Alfasud this morning at the local shops. Owner showed up and we briefly chatted. Its still on original rego, owner said it was 44 years old and a one owner car, which looked about right if he'd bought it as a young man.
It looks like a well loved survivor car. Next time I'll grab a snap. He did say getting parts was becoming a real problem.

Saw an extended FG Falcon ute with a lazy axle transporting a large electrical switchboard on the M80 last week, unfortunately couldn't snap a photo of it.

Mint original series 1 Discovery driven by older gent in Geelong late last week, dark green in colour, original steelies with the silver spray rather than the white, I think that was the 'S' pack? Anyway very nice in that colour.

Magnas are the ones i always laugh about. You still see a fair few early-90's Falcons, Commodores, and Camrys, but when was the last time you saw one of these bad boys

The Mitsubishi factory was in SA, wasn't it? Maybe a few more of them around to begin with down there, I wonder? Because honestly since it occured to me that you don't see many of them, it's almost like a game i play while i'm driving now.
Like SPOTTO but for Magnas |

A Hyundai Veloster.
It looked contemporary. Why were these discontinued? Run over by the SUV freight train?

The original was very keenly priced, only slightly above the hatchback it was based on, and sold well to its target audience. The second gen was priced above and beyond its target audience and sales bombed.

I do but dont get what Hyundai did with the veloster, the drivers door and 2 passengers door thing. I had fun with that when they 1st came out. Pass one in traffic and point out to the apprentice its a 2 door Hyundai. Move to the left lane to turn and when it passed the apprenti would say 'its a 4 door'. No, technically a 4 door as its a hatch, but 3 passenger doors.
