Sweet ride. The new wheels look great. Wasnt much wrong with the old ones though. Looking at your build photos who did your chrome on the rear bumper looks as though it came up great.

I got exchange bumpers from

http://www.chromeworld.net.au/6800/Services/

I went through 3 till they gave me a straight one I was happy with. I still have a spare slightly bent one they didnt want back with brand new chrome.

I had had the simmons for a good 8-9 years.... was time to move on.

They came up great. I had the rear qtr window mould done by them very happy with the job and was thinking of sending the bumpers to them. By the look of the finish you got they will get the job. Thanks for the quick reply. Did you have it at wagga all ford day a couple of years back.

I had it there about 4 years ago I think. I had the rest of the chome work done by Electro Plating Technology in Queanbeyan. Very very very good work, but took forever.

Is there any pics of your coupe on here?

Thanks Rob

Radiator is back in after getting the mounting point of the thermo switch built up, also gave the radiator a good polish with some metal polish and a scotch pad

And the cleaning/poishing continues

Well, inlet manifold is off now, split the drivers side intake gasket on the way back from the coast. Got home, but not without fouling up a plug and drinking lots of oil. Now the fun task of cleaning the gaskets off and putting on some quality replacements.

Good news is that the coupe won the Sponsors Choice trophy (Shannons) at the South coast nationals.

good work with the trophey mate, i was up in canberra a few weeks back, was hoping to see it getting around, bad luck with the gaskets, at least there a simple fix apart from getting them off as you said, razorblade works well.

Could have been alot worse..... was expecting something really bad but was happy when I discovered it was just the inlet gasket. Worst case scenario I will have to get the inlet manifold machined down some more (already machined 40thou) on the mounting faces to make room for thicker gaskets. To be honest the inlet gaskets we used were pretty thin and crap.

A couple pics from today. I have plans to redo the dash insert and delete the stereo, mounting it in the center console or hidden somewhere else.

Here is the dash as it is now. Planning on a new layout as the speedo and Tach aren't centered infront of the wheel prefectly. Also want to run all four guages in the dash.

Also here is a pic of my coil and ignition setup in the glovebox, something I havn't shared yet.

Mick

Love the coupe mate really looks great. I have a car in a resto shop at the moment and when they asked what i wanted to do with the dash i sent them a picture of yours to work off (hope you don't mind) with some changes which match your intended alterations almost exactly. No stereo, speedo and tach centered in behind wheel (didn't notice that yours wasn't) and 2x2 gauges to the left! This was two days ago, thought it worthy of a mention. Again, top looking rig you have, stance, wheels, colour its all good!

Got a stance question, I was thinking of dropping the back end down a little more. Here is a quick photoshop comparison.
