You know it's funny you miss things when looking through the lens of a camera all day, but I think a certain team captain may not have had his bonnet locked down on one of his runs (well for one cool down lap anyway) ;) ...

Yer that's me, I popped the bonnet on the cool down lap to cool the beast down faster.......do you have any photo's of my ute Brett, I would love to see them..

There's no humble pie left,, I ate it all at Willowbank...... Looks like us 8's will just have to keep kicking your slow 6 cylinder butts.........

And just in case some of you don't know
The 6's were demoralized by the all mighty V8's

Just want to put it on the record that the Gt is completely stock

Standard as it came from FPV except for the stripes and coloured sections on the side sills. The boot was emptied and the tyres pumped up but that is all.

All pics welcome to be posted or send directly to me
Pps Thanks Matty for putting up with Mitch and no worries Chris, was more to our benifit than yours I am sure.lol.
Thanks to Lissa, Rob and of course Mitch, makes me feel much better when I know there are great people around to make sure that the kids survive the weekend and have as much as a good time as the adults. It's always a risk sending a dad away with three boys but they all survived quite well. Thanks to everyone.

Default Great Day!

Well it's been a while since I posted on the forums, in fact since they got cut over to FordForums I haven't even had an account. But in that time my folks got an XR and sorted out club membership with DOUK (Dear Old Uncle Ken). After heading out to Morgan Park with Dad yesterday and having watched some fun being had and how much Dad enjoyed it I decided to sign back up and post some photos.

Any suggestions on photo size etc so as not to cause the thread to take an hour to load for people with non broadband internet connections?

Had a great day yesterday... although I could do without this rather bad sunburn I got! :

Hi All,

What a fantastic day and an excellent turnout by the club.

Many thanks to the commitee and sponsors.

I'm stoked, I was the 3rd fastest 8 and I didnt think I was trying to hard!

If anyone has any pictures or video of my car, (The DJR) could you please post them or pm me and I will send you my email.

It was great to see Grunters beast back on the road and maybe the track next time.

Cheers Jeff

Do you know how hard it was to get a photo of that car that would stay in focus? I don't know what it was about it but I only got about a 10% hit rate on photos of that car...

You have no idea how tough it was watching the cars head out and not having time to give the T3 a run. But still had great fun watching all the guys n gals giving it some. At the next meeting in December, I'll be making some time to have a break and handing off marshalling duties for a short period on the day, so I can grab a couple of runs.

PS. thanks for the spin in your car. I still can't get over how good the blower whine sounds and how hard it goes. :

It's probably better that you wait till december to take GRUNTR out for a run, you will have the six speed box in by then.

Nice pic of the djr car Brett. Where were you standing when you took most of these pics?? Near the bridge?

No I actually walked around the course a few times. There are a couple of really good spots for photos. One which I didn't use this time as I don't know the drivers well enough ;) Which is in the middle of the S's before coming back onto the start / finish straight. I get some great shots there, but if someone makes a mistake I don't have a lot of room to move...

Just on the outskirts of Warick. We will be going there again later in the year. The track is pretty much booked most weekends. If you ever get the chance to go there you will have a ball.

Thanks for the picture Brett its a great shot.

I was probably just going too fast to focus on

What type of camera do you use? I am looking at buying a new digital that will take good action shots.

Cheers Jeff

P.S Can you email me a higher res picture?

Hi Jeff, I'm using a Nikon D70 DSLR which is a great little camera (well not that little). It really depends on how much you want to spend. My ideal camera would be the Nikon D200 (yes the D2X flagship would be good, but a waste for what I use it for).

But these are all $2000+ (well plus for the D2X) with a long lens. Other than that I can't comment on the smaller digital cameras as I've not used them extensively enough for other than point and shoot.

Cheers
Brett
