HAHA, my mates dad said if you put metho in fuel it makes it more flammable and gets rid of any water that may be in the tank..
He suggested I do it and hes fairly switched on with mechanics (builds race boats from ground up) so I thought I'll try it and yeah 'felt' like it worked lol.. but thats when I first got the car and even after cleaning the interior felt like it went better hahaha. Oh and dont worry Glenn I wont be doing anything like this when you build my motor hahahaha.. :yeees: |

Any more progress yet with mods for the vct ? ( thanks heaps G&D Performance , you have been doing an excellent job figuring out the techo stuff for us so far - keep up the good work, im sure my car will be in visiting your workshop soon ;) ). lol as for the metho in the fuel etc etc, maybe getting a little carried away ..lol , but i can underastand how you feel about fuel quality these days, I have copped some really dodgy batches in the past in other cars , hopefully my AU won't suffer and have to choke on rubbish fuel. I think this is the only car though i have ever bothered using hi-octane/premium unleaded, i put a few $$ of normal unleaded in it once ( forgot my wallet and was nearlly out of fuel , used change in the car ) and it seemed very slugish, didnt last long either . I wont be using that again , not in this car anyway.

I was also advised by mechanics to use 5 percent metho to get the water out of the petrol tank of my old in-board ski boat which was constantly getting contaminated It did work and never seemed to harm the motor as far as I could tell but I would not recomend it in a modern car without talking to an expert which I am not |

About the metho in the fuel ! - it does actually work , as petrol and water do not mix , metho helps them mix thus allowing you to use all as fuel, intead of a layer of water just floating in the tank , not something to do all the time though , just when you definatelly have water in the tank. I've never heard of it doing any damage so long as it is just used in those occasions ( once in a ble moon ) . ;)

Hey Guys,
Good numbers for a flash and bolt ons, what are they stock on your dyno? Are you able to FLASH E-SERIES Yet? If You need an E-Series guinnie pig I've got a couple lying around, modded and stock. The fuel system on Fords can run out of flow in the injector and pump area quite early. Some N/A ford pumps only flow enough for 215Kw @ engine, at stock pressure. More pressure and the pumps flow less. I use a Bosch 044 as a booster pump in my N/A ford as it made around 130rwkw from 3500-5000 (when did 15.3) due to not enough pump flow, it made a difference for sure, and allows you to fit an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to up the pressure if the injectors get maxxed out. |

We'll keep an eye on the fuel systems as R&D progresses, there are some pretty good intank replacement pumps these days that will help any issues. The 044 motorsport is a great pump too,we use them often, sounds like you've been having a great time with yours. We should have tuning options down the track for E-series if everything goes to plan but at this stage it's only AU upwards. Regards Glenn |
