Nah, just remember all the guys from back in the day, Franks still around and probably still owns the GTO, unfortunately Alex is no longer with us.

They were interviewing Raff about the cost of tyres, I remember his Torana getting hit by the train at the entry to South beach when it got stuck on the tracks.

2 little Escorts over the last week.
First one was a bright yellow 1980 (i think!) RS, or at least a lookalike. Weirdly, I was reminded that evening about my spotto because my wife told me she saw what we believe to be the same Escort, earlier that day too.
Other Escort, dark brown, looked to be a touch earlier than that, average condition but still running around in the homebound traffic

Just saw a green EB Falcon 6cyl GT mock-up with gold Simmons FR18.
Haven't seen anything like that in 20 years I reckon.

Funny you say modern chrysler, one caught me ear today and foolishly i looked at it. An abnoxiously loud 300c, but a v6 so it sounded worse then a high pitched wet fart with follow through. Why delete mufflers on a pentistar (i think thats what the v6s were named), but hey, dont see 300c's anymore.

My first "fast car" was a 1975 HJ 253 T-bar. Dead stock, yep, even had the WW 2 barrel strongie and single system..

I upgraded it to a full reco 253, small cam, M21 4 speed, extractors, Rochester Quaddie, statesman 2.78 LSD (I like top end).
Man that was fast (hey, I was 19 hehehe). I bet it would have run an easy 18 second quarter, but at the time to me it was the ducks guts.

I used to love holding it flat on the Bruce Hwy north of Brisbane until it valve bounced then rolling off until it stopped "valving".

Came across a genuine XY GT-HO Phase 3 (Vermillion Fire) one night when I was coming back from Nambour.

I was playing with this guy thinking I could suck his number plate off and mail it back to him... in a top end race...

I was flat in 4th speedo pinned at 200 (long style non GTS dash)..
and what I saw will stick in my head for ever. He gears back to third, yeah at 200kmp/h, floors it, and all I saw was white puffs of carbon and the boot squatting and this thing leaving me for dead.. I started thinking, what's wrong with my fast car? So i gear back to third to try and keep up... Hmm big mistake, it (the 253) didn't break, but man, I heard noises that a 253 should never make. Totally cringey..

Anyway some time later up the road we pull over and had a chat.
He was driving this original HO from Gladstone to Sydney to sell it at an auction. He says to me would you like to sit in it. Hell yeah I said.
It was idling, and it was lumpy as fusk, and I asked him had he "worked it", as I knew nothing about them at that time. He said, nope, it's dead stock.

I thought, holy snapping dog turds.. it had 8000rpm on the tacho and a 140mph speedo (keep in mind I was 19). I was totally blown away. I jumps out, he jumps in and said he needed to keep going. My HJ was parked behind him with the headlights on.
I says to him, it's got 8000 on the tacho, does it rev that hard. He proceeds to free rev this beauty to all of the 8000 a few times and was covering my car in snow. White carbon just pouring out of this this thing... and it sounded like a symphony. Absolutely loving it... being revved I mean.. by comparison, my car... if I did that, to my HJ (my "fast car") hehehe, all I would hear for the next 5 minutes would be lifter rattle.
Was a great 30 minutes. Something I will never forget.
Total respect for the fastest 4 door sedan in the world.
Tick.

Cheers,

One Man.

Thats a Torana, they only had a 6-cyl in the UC series. The Starfire was fitted to the Sunbird.

Coming in late, but...

VB-VS Commodores
EA-ED Falcons
VW Beetles
Any Datsun
Nissan Bluebirds
Toyota Coronas, Crowns, Taragos etc.
Mitsubishi Sigmas, Scorpions, Magnas
Mazda 323s to the mid 90s
Ford Capris, Cortinas etc.

It's all time though. I just miss seeing these cars around. Well, perhaps except the VN-VS COmmodores. I can go without those.

The only time that you see any quantity of Capris & Cortinas these days, is at the drags.

Still lots of this list in Adelaide
But getting rarer.
The other day I saw 2 EF/EL Fairlanes side by side in traffic, one in the slip lane so not long together.
And I got abused by a dipshit in a VS wagon the other morning. Yes I pinned him in behind a stopped bus on purpose but he was being a dick previously so deserved it.
